SummaryPlans, organizes, directs, controls and coordinates activities of workers engaged in propagating, cultivating and harvesting horticultural specialties, such as trees, shrubs, flowers and other plants.Essential Responsibilities and Duties1. Manages landscapes and related jobs like propagation and care of outdoor plants.2. Inspects all plantings to determine work required. Performs necessary structural repair on trees, vines and shrubs.3. Determines quantities and varieties of exterior plants needed seasonally.4. Visits work areas to observe work being done. Inspects crops and evaluates plant and soil condition.5. Manages pest control operations. Assures that all plantings are treated regularly with necessary pest controls.6. Organizes landscapes for planting, seeding and development of annual and perennial bedding plants, groundcovers, trees and shrubs.7. Determines plant growing conditionings, such as hydroponics or natural settings and set planting and care schedules.8. Determines types and quantities of horticultural plants needed based on budget, projected utilization and/or executive directives.9. Performs soil tests to determine requirements to adjust to suitable growing conditions.10. Maintains horticultural records and information on pests and diseases. Records and analyses results of growing plants in experimental and test plots.11. Design and implements changes in landscaping.12. Performs necessary training in gardening techniques. Assists with employees' orientation.13. Evaluates employees' performance. Counsels employee. Recommends disciplinary actions.14. Assigns work schedule and duties to landscape staff for optimum utilization and supervises their daily activities.15. Selects and purchases seeds, plant nutrients, disease control chemicals, tools and equipment.16. Coordinates with Horticulturists the application of pesticides and liquid fertilizer to plants.17. Provides information on the care of trees, shrubs, flowers, plants and lawns as required.18. Participates as UMD member in committees/task force as assigned.19. Follows all prescribed safety procedures.20. Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.21. Participates in self and other's education, training and development as applicable.EducationBachelor's Degree in Horticulture or related field is required.Experience RequiredSix (6) years of related experience is required.Other Requirements(Certificates)Saudi driver's license.For Saudi nationals only.
