We are in search of a Technical Accounting Advisor to join the Controller's Organization within the Finance, Strategy & Development business line of our client. The Controller's Organization serves as the primary representative for financial and income tax reporting to management by generating the Company's consolidated financial statements, subsidiaries' financial statements, and other management reports. Additionally, the Controller's Organization delivers controls/governance, accounting, and advisory services concerning our client's interests. It actively pursues compliance across all organizations in terms of controls over financial reporting and aims for good corporate governance.

Minimum Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in accounting or its equivalent, with professional certifications such as CPA, CA, ACCA, or CMA being desirable. A graduate degree is also preferred. A minimum of ten years of relevant experience in industries like public accounting, accounting policy, IFRS interpretation, internal auditing, financial statement consolidation, financial analysis, financial statement preparation, accounting research, mergers and acquisitions, taxation, process/change management, or strategy/management consulting is required. Specific operational experience in energy-related activities, infrastructure, utilities, joint ventures, subsidiaries, government sector, non-profits, and public administration is desirable. Corporate business integration experience, especially in startups, is also valued. Extensive knowledge of accounting policies and procedures under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and a strong understanding of financial statements within the IFRS framework are essential. Proficiency in English and Arabic, both oral and written, is required. SAP or equivalent ERP systems experience is highly desirable.

Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Researching accounting literature for addressing current issues in accounting and financial reporting.
  2. Performing analysis, making recommendations, and preparing responses on accounting matters.
  3. Preparing confidential and technical financial accounting papers.
  4. Reviewing transaction agreements for compliance with controls.
  5. Assessing control and governance environments within our client's group and documenting results.
  6. Demonstrating joint venture and M&A integration support from a financial accounting perspective.
  7. Providing ad hoc financial expertise as required.
  8. Exhibiting expertise in IFRS standards, particularly within the energy industry.
  9. Establishing personal credibility with internal and external clients, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills.
  10. Working with minimal supervision, possessing good project management skills, and offering logical and innovative solutions to complex issues.
