Responsibilities Your Commitment Reporting to the Headof the Department, you will be responsible for the development,delivery and evaluation of a broad range of courses within ChemicalEngineering program. You will evaluate student progress and managethe resources of the learning environment. The successful candidatewill liaise with industry and other educational institutions;participate in industry advisory committees and coordinate, manageand control projects within the specified program area. You willkeep course portfolio documents required for program review andaccreditation processes and engage in instructional development aswell as new program development. The College encouragesapplications from research-active faculty who will also contributeto the enhancement of applied research and innovation.Qualifications Education and Experience Requirements Facultymembers will be placed in the appropriate rank based on theireducation and experience. The broad criteria are noted below. ForAssociate Professor and Assistant Professor • A PhD inChemical Engineering or a closely related field; from a recognized,accredited institution. • MSc. in chemical Engineeringfrom a recognized, accredited institution • BachelorDegree in Chemical engineering from a recognized, accreditedinstitution Experience • Demonstrated record of academicexperience. • A minimum of five (5) years of teachingexperience in higher education, adult training or industry trainingenvironment. • A minimum of 3 years of industrialexperience in chemical & processing industry. •Demonstrated competence with curriculum development,implementation, and evaluation. • Demonstrated use diverseand current teaching approaches in the classroom and for practiceexperiences including the laboratory, simulation, and practicums.• Demonstrated ability to use a variety of educationaltechnology and platforms. • Demonstrated academic andinformation literacy skills. Scholarship and Research •Contribution to the advancement of knowledge through appliedresearch, scholarship, publications, knowledge transfer orprofessional practice which would be expected to be internationalin its scope. • Professional recognition and standingamongst peers. • Academic subject leadership or academicmanagement. • Preference given to candidates withdemonstrated contribution to curriculum development and to teachingand learning.
