Job Title: Security & Dispatch Officer - Bulk Oil & Chemical Storage Terminal Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a constant security presence across the terminal, ensuring the safety and security of personnel, property, equipment, and cargo.
  • Should have completed SIRA competency training, with knowledge of SIRA systems.
  • Monitor security cameras, alarm systems, and surveillance tools to detect any security breaches or suspicious activities.
  • Conduct regular physical inspections of the terminal and facilities, including taking rounds regularly.
  • Having knowledge of basic computer software like MS Excel & Word.
  • Verify all incoming and outgoing shipments and maintain detailed records of cargo movements.
  • Oversee the safe movement of road tankers and containers within the terminal premises.
  • Conduct checks for proper documentation, vehicle condition, and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Perform basic safety checks on road tankers and containers, ensuring that vehicles meet safety standards as per SOPs.
  • Identify and report any mechanical or safety issues with vehicles and coordinate necessary corrective actions.
  • Monitor driver behavior, ensuring adherence to company policies and road safety standards inside the terminal.
  • Possess basic knowledge of fire and safety protocols specific to the oil and chemical industry.
  • Maintain detailed logs and reports of daily security activities, including road tanker movement, cargo in/out data, vehicle inspections, and emergency responses.
  • Report any incidents or near misses to the Terminal Manager or Operations Manager.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Security Officer or in a similar security role, preferably within an oil and chemical storage or industrial environment.
  • SIRA training & certification is a must.
  • Familiarity with basic MS software tools for stock and cargo movement tracking.
  • Basic understanding of fire and safety protocols, with knowledge of emergency procedures in the oil and chemical industry.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with team members, terminal staff, and regulatory bodies.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications in safety or security.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, and patrol the terminal for extended periods.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies quickly and effectively.
Working Conditions:
  • Must be available to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and on an industrial premises.
