Job Purpose

The Job Holder will engage on all Business Development matters within S&BD and bring together business and technical competencies to serve Ma’aden purpose and maximize the value to Maaden of new Phosphate and IM projects. The role is focused on capital projects evaluation and development, from Stage 0 to Stage Gate 2. Contributes to Ma’aden Phosphate and Industrial Minerals (Phosphate and IM) organic growth projects and excellence. Consolidates data and prepares analysis to define and develop long-term strategic organic growth goals considering maximum return on investment. Involved in securing company interest in the field of energy, water, sulphur and mineral resources and reserves development. Prepares analysis and arguments to negotiate with suppliers, securing strategic long-term contracts for all required feedstocks & infrastructure. Participates and leads some activities in Resource development in Resource and reserve development. Contributes to maintain an extensive knowledge of current raw materials market conditions. Participates in the development of Projects in stage-0, stage-1 and stage-2, ensuring to adhere to Maaden MCIS, while ensuring to achieve the maximum value to the BU. The job holder will need to utilize their current technical experience in advancing Business development proposals, to bring more optimized technical and cost solutions.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Participate and lead some activities in projects development from concept through conceptual & Project Scoping and boundaries definitions & pre-feasibility to feasibility studies in all aspects related to technical, marketing, finance, business alignment, risks identification and mitigation, mineral resources and reserves development and commercial securing of energy, water, sulphur and any required feedstock and utility.
  2. Support the team in M&A & Business Development acquisitions activities. Support in department Budget and spending reports, and participate in department procurement activities, support plans to reduce costs and gain competitiveness and helps Management to develop annual plans.
  3. Prepare analysis to screen potential opportunities and develop projects from Stage 0 to Stage Gate 2.
  4. Participate in Resource development efforts and Mining License applications.
  5. Support in stakeholder management efforts related to S&BD department.
  6. Participate in business cases, progress it through Ma’aden’s Stage Gate system (from Stage Gate 0 and Stage Gate 2) till fully commissioning of the plant.
  7. Complete individual development program.
  8. Contribute to the department main principles of team working spirit and continuance learning, to strengthen our positive work environment and create more opportunity for the department to grow.

Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Competencies

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering. Minimum Experience: 3+ years of experience in Phosphate Business Unit Technical or Operational Department, and other departments with Engineering Background. 4+ years experience in other BUs technical or operational Departments.
