The MEP Engineer at OMNIYAT is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of all MEP systems within projects stakeholders, ensuring alignment with design specifications and timelines. This role involves liaising with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The Role:

  • Organize and facilitate regular site meetings with contractors, MEP contractors, ID contractors, and the joinery team to ensure effective communication and project alignment with OMNIYAT Standards and expectation.
  • Act as the central liaison between all project stakeholders, ensuring the seamless execution of MEP works in line with the overall project plan and specifications.
  • Coordinate and lead periodic site walks with contractors and consultants to ensure all project requirements are being met, and overcome any mismatch.
  • Ensure the contractor submits necessary MEP documentation (shop drawings, material submittals, etc.) on time, and actively follow up to address any delays.
  • Oversee the MEP consultants’ review of technical drawings and submittals, ensuring timely approval and release of documents to contractors within the project’s allocated time frame.
  • Monitor and ensure that the contractor progresses with material procurement and installation activities as per the approved baseline program.
  • Closely monitor and report the progress of works against the baseline schedule, taking corrective action when deviations are identified.
  • Identify and escalate any deviations from the approved project standards or schedule to senior management for prompt resolution.
  • Identify potential risks related to MEP installations and propose mitigation strategies, ensuring that the project remains on schedule and within budget.
  • In case of discrepancies with MEP engineering guidelines, issue field mismatch notices to contractors and follow up to ensure resolution, ensuring alignment with the original MEP design and system.
  • Work closely with the ID design team to ensure all MEP requirements are captured and communicated to the contractors, ensuring no details are missed.
  • Coordinate with the project contractor to secure necessary authority approvals, including those from entities such as Dubai Civil Defence.
  • Collaborate with contractors to provide an approval matrix, review its accuracy, and ensure it is adhered to during the project execution phase.
  • Ensure the contractor submits required project closeout MEP documents, such as Operation & Maintenance manuals, as-built drawings, and organizes necessary training for end-users or CRM teams upon project completion.
  • Perform MEP inspections in the absence of project consultants as directed by senior management.
  • Track and manage issues related to the Defect Liability Period (DLP) during the project’s maintenance phase, ensuring all concerns are resolved efficiently.
  • Liaise with the CRM team, providing technical guidance and support as required throughout the project lifecycle, covering the MEP part of the project.
  • Supervise the installation of critical systems such as fire alarms, smoke alarms, and firefighting systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications, facilitate the review of installations by consultants and coordinate the final inspection by Dubai Civil Defence.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (structural, architectural, etc.) to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems with other building systems.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, IT Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3-6 Years of experience in similar role with contractor, consultant or Real Estate developer.
  • Communication skills, follow-up, planning and time management.
  • Technical Skills - AutoCad, DuctSizer, PipeSizer.
