Job Summary: The Construction Procurement Officer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, equipment, and services required for construction projects. This role ensures that procurement activities align with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and contractors. Key Responsibilities:

1. Procurement & Sourcing:

  1. Identify and evaluate suppliers, contractors, and vendors for construction materials and services.
  2. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure cost-effective procurement.
  3. Issue purchase orders and ensure the timely delivery of required materials.
  4. Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with agreements.

2. Cost Control & Budgeting:

  1. Work closely with project managers to align procurement with project budgets.
  2. Analyze market trends to optimize procurement costs.
  3. Maintain cost records and reports for future procurement planning.

3. Contract & Vendor Management:

  1. Draft and review procurement contracts in line with company policies.
  2. Ensure vendors comply with legal, safety, and quality standards.
  3. Address and resolve supplier-related issues in a timely manner.

4. Inventory & Logistics Management:

  1. Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to manage material deliveries.
  2. Maintain accurate procurement records, inventory levels, and stock forecasts.

5. Compliance & Risk Management:

  1. Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and local regulations.
  2. Identify and mitigate potential risks in procurement processes.
Qualifications & Skills:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. 3+ years of experience in construction procurement or a related field.
  3. Strong negotiation, communication, and contract management skills.
  4. Knowledge of procurement software and ERP systems.
  5. Understanding of construction materials, suppliers, and industry standards.
  6. Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CIPS, CPSM).
  2. Experience working in large-scale construction projects.
