Key Responsibilities

API & Microservices Development
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable RESTful APIs using Python.
  • Develop microservices that power critical fintech features such as payments, identity verification, and transaction processing.
Data & Database Management
  • Collaborate with the Data and Product teams to design robust data models (SQL and/or NoSQL).
  • Ensure data integrity and optimal query performance, implementing necessary indexing and caching strategies.
Integration & Automation
  • Integrate with third-party services and APIs (KYC, payment gateways, fraud monitoring tools).
  • Work on CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, deployment, and monitoring processes.
Performance & Reliability
  • Optimize existing systems to meet performance, scalability, and security requirements.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and debugging to ensure high availability of the platform.
  • Work closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Contribute to sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and code reviews, maintaining best practices and coding standards.
Security & Compliance
  • Adhere to compliance standards (e.g., AML, KYC) and ensure code meets data security and privacy requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Compliance team to quickly adapt backend systems to new regulations or policy changes.

Qualifications & Skills

Educational Background
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Technical Expertise
  • Programming Skills : Proficiency in Python, with hands-on experience in frameworks like Flask or FastAPI (Django is a plus).
  • Databases : Familiarity with both SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) databases.
  • Version Control : Experience with Git/GitHub in collaborative software development environments.
  • DevOps : Basic understanding of containerization (Docker) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is preferred.
Experience
  • 1–3+ years of relevant work experience (including internships or personal projects) for a junior role; 3–5 years for mid-level.
  • Previous fintech or payments experience is an added advantage but not mandatory.
Soft Skills
  • Problem-Solving : Able to diagnose issues, propose creative solutions, and manage complexity.
  • Team Player : Comfortable collaborating within a cross-functional, agile environment.
  • Communication : Clear and concise, capable of articulating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
