Full job description We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our contracting company. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and industry regulations. Responsibilities: Financial Management:

Oversee the day-to-day financial activities, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, payroll, and expense management.
Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and reconcile bank statements.
Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards.
Conduct regular financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making.

Construction Accounting:

Manage construction project accounting, including job cost tracking, progress billing, change orders, and project closeouts.
Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate and timely recognition of revenue and costs.
Perform cost accounting activities, such as calculating labor and overhead rates, and analyzing project profitability.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Assist in the development of annual budgets, working closely with department managers and project teams.
Prepare financial forecasts, highlighting potential risks and opportunities.
Monitor budget performance, investigate variances, and provide recommendations for cost-saving measures.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience in the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles, including job costing, revenue recognition, and contract management.
Proficiency in using accounting software with experience in implementing and optimizing financial systems.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
Sound understanding of GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
