Job details
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of working with and guiding project teams in building structures projects, possessing a sound technical background, and will be working on various building structures including high-rise, mixed-use towers, residential, and villa schemes. You will be expected to combine managerial competencies and technical responsibilities, promote a collaborative approach, and inspire the team to deliver projects to quality, budget, and timescales. Key responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare designs, specifications, calculations, drawings, and risk assessments for maintenance, refurbishment, and new build schemes; obtain statutory approvals where needed.
- Provide project management and team leadership for the preparation of concept, scheme, and detailed design calculations and drawings for structural and multi-discipline projects.
- Maintain ownership of the structural engineering analysis and design.
- Inspect works carried out on site and monitor quality and compliance with design drawings.
- Be accountable for the timely production and delivery of reliable design solutions, reports, specifications, and drawings.
- Ensure all design work is carried out in accordance with the Company’s quality standard procedures.
- Provide effective task and resource management and monitor against agreed scope, programme, and budget.
- Provide structural technical support and manage the technical accuracy of the project delivery.
- Present technical aspects of a project and structural design approach to technical and non-technical team members/stakeholders.
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge and appreciation of current technical engineering codes and practices and take a role in technical matters both at project and divisional level.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; chartered status will have an added advantage.
- Experience working in an international design consultancy.
- Experience in engineering design primarily in building structures and in roles of increasing responsibility and project complexity.
- Demonstrable record of successfully designing and delivering building structures projects.
- Experience in using analytical/design software such as Etabs, Safe, Staad, Robot, RAM Concept, Tekla Tedds.
- Experience in using BIM software such as BIM 360, ACC, Navisworks, Revit, and Blue Beam.
- Experience in scripting and parametric software such as Rhino, Grasshopper, Dynamo will have an added advantage.
- Advanced level proficiency with all MS Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrable experience of planning and monitoring project programmes, costs, and resources ensuring delivery to time and budget.
- Excellent knowledge of local regulations, professional and international codes, and standards such as ACI, ASCE, IBC, AISC, BS, Dubai Code, and ADIBC.
