Apprentice Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitter We are seeking candidates who wish to serve a full four-year Solas Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitter Apprenticeship. Opportunities are available at our Head Office location in Piercetown, Dunboyne, Co. Meath. Responsibilities:
- Plant and Machinery Installation: Setting up new machinery and ensuring it is correctly installed and operational.
- Maintenance and Repair: Regularly servicing equipment to prevent breakdowns and repairing any faults that occur
- Replacement of Worn Parts: Identifying and replacing parts that are worn out or broken to ensure machinery runs smoothly
- Adjustment and Servicing: Fine-tuning machinery to improve performance and conducting routine services
- Fabrication of Replacement Parts : Using machine tools like lathes, milling machines, and grinders to create replacement parts
- Working with drilling and milling machines and welding plants
- Knowledge of CNC (Computer Numerical Control)
- Interpreting technical drawings and diagrams
- Condition monitoring using modern maintenance techniques
- Report writing of completed repairs
- Minimum of 5 passes in Junior Certificate/3 passes in Leaving Certificate
- Effective written & verbal communication skills
- Strong planning & organisation skills
- Proficiency in using various tools and machinery
- Ability to diagnose issues and determine the best solutions
- Ensuring precision in all tasks to maintain high standards of work
- Understanding and adhering to health and safety regulations
