Apprentice Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitter - Dunboyne

Apprentice Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitter We are seeking candidates who wish to serve a full four-year Solas Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitter Apprenticeship. Opportunities are available at our Head Office location in Piercetown, Dunboyne, Co. Meath.   Responsibilities:

• Plant and Machinery Installation: Setting up new machinery and ensuring it is correctly installed and operational.
• Maintenance and Repair: Regularly servicing equipment to prevent breakdowns and repairing any faults that occur
• Replacement of Worn Parts: Identifying and replacing parts that are worn out or broken to ensure machinery runs smoothly
• Adjustment and Servicing: Fine-tuning machinery to improve performance and conducting routine services
• Fabrication of Replacement Parts : Using machine tools like lathes, milling machines, and grinders to create replacement parts
• Working with drilling and milling machines and welding plants
• Knowledge of CNC (Computer Numerical Control)
• Interpreting technical drawings and diagrams
• Condition monitoring using modern maintenance techniques
• Report writing of completed repairs

• Minimum of 5 passes in Junior Certificate/3 passes in Leaving Certificate
• Effective written & verbal communication skills
• Strong planning & organisation skills
• Proficiency in using various tools and machinery
• Ability to diagnose issues and determine the best solutions
• Ensuring precision in all tasks to maintain high standards of work
• Understanding and adhering to health and safety regulations
