Overview: The Discipline Project Buyer is responsible for handling procurement activities for project-specific materials and services, ensuring they meet the required specifications, quality standards, and delivery schedules. The role involves managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely delivery of materials to support project deadlines. The Project Buyer will collaborate closely with internal teams such as engineering, project management, and cost control, as well as external suppliers. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage procurement activities for materials, equipment, and services, ensuring compliance with project specifications and requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms.
  • Review and evaluate vendor proposals, ensuring compliance with technical and commercial requirements.
  • Issue purchase orders and follow up on order progress to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Coordinate with project teams to understand material requirements and align procurement activities with project schedules.
  • Monitor vendor performance in terms of delivery, quality, and adherence to contracts.
  • Identify and mitigate any risks related to procurement, such as delivery delays or quality issues.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, and correspondence.
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
Certifications / Specialization / IT Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with procurement software or ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) is an advantage.
Years of Experience:
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on the oil & gas or construction industries.
Technical Knowledge:
  1. Strong understanding of procurement processes, contract management, and supply chain principles.
  2. Familiarity with technical specifications, vendor management, and project procurement in the energy sector.
