Job Description We are currently seeking to employ an experienced Head of Music for Jumeirah College, Dubai. This appointment is for September 2025 start. Jumeirah College is a GEMS Premium Secondary School which delivers the National Curriculum for England, offering the full range of GCSE and A level courses. Our student body is a dynamic international community of over 1,200 students from over 62 nationalities. Although non-selective at admission, our students achieve exceptional exam results which compare to top UK schools. In 2023 over 99% of GCSE results were 9-4 out of which 47% were 9, and at A level over 44% of all grades were A*/A with over 77% A*/B. This success enables our students to move on to the very top universities around the world, including Cambridge, UCL, Stanford, Monash and Toronto. The Post: Head of Music We are looking to appoint an outstanding Head of Music to join the College. The successful candidate will lead an exceptional department which is both extremely popular and effective. In 2024 the results in GCSE were outstanding, with 100% of students receiving 9-4 grades. At A-Level, the results were equally impressive with 100% A*- C. The opportunities which Music present for students is central to the philosophy of the school.   1. A B.Ed. or degree and PGCE / PGDE or equivalent with exceptional subject knowledge.
  2. At least 3 years experience of the National Curriculum for England.
  3. Experience teaching Music Technology at KS4 and KS5.
  4. Experience running choirs and orchestra.
  5. Ability to accompany GCSE and A Level recitals on the piano.
