Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Librarian to join our team in Khawr Fakkan. The position offers a salary of 1400 and is open to both local and foreign applicants.Job Responsibilities:
- Organize, maintain, and update library resources and databases.
- Answer reference questions in person or by phone/email.
- Assist patrons with locating books, periodicals, videos, etc.
- Process new library materials for circulation.
- Monitor library activities to ensure the safety and comfort of patrons.
- Develop programs such as book clubs or story times for children.
- Assist in the selection of library materials such as books, audio books, videos, etc.
- Assist patrons with the use of computers or other electronic equipment for research purposes.
- Supervise the work of Library Assistants or Clerks.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science or related field preferred but not required.
- Previous experience working in a library environment preferred but not required.
- Excellent customer service skills and strong communication skills (oral & written).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others as part of a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel).
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds as needed when shelving books or other materials.
