With stunning resorts located across the globe and exciting expansion planned, Kerzner International currently has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Cluster Director of Security to join our team at One&Only Royal Mirage and One&Only The Palm Hotels in Dubai. With the global growth of our brands, you will be an integral part of Resort’s success and your role goes beyond developing potential relationships with our clients. You will manage the resorts' security functions and practice the maintenance of security standards to ensure compliance with all Health and Safety Regulations as set by the OHASA Act. Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Practice the prevention of crime.
  • Investigate and detect crime.
  • Ensure the comfort of guests and staff.
  • Protect guest, staff, and hotel property.
  • Be always available to deal with problems and complaints.
  • Ensure that all staff are neat and properly dressed on duty.
  • Maintain the highest standards of excellence according to resort standards.
  • Communicate effectively between Senior Management and other departments.
  • Ensure all security policies & procedures are carried out timeously, accurately, and clearly.
  • Ensure prompt response and investigation of all security-related incidents.
  • Demonstrate prompt opening and updating of security incident files.
  • Be aware of all VIPs staying at the hotel and liaise with Personal Security where present.
  • Ensure security staff is aware of any special functions and security requirements relative to such functions.
  • Be aware of all emergency and evacuation procedures.
  • Ensure all security equipment is maintained to the highest standards and checked regularly.
  • Update all security and training manuals.
  • Report for duty timeously according to roster stipulation, ensuring handover from shift to shift.
  • Organize and conduct cash transfers according to cash handling procedures.
  • Be aware of trends within the security industry and how these could benefit the Security Department.
  • Build relationships with junior security staff based on trust and fairness, lead by example.
  • Liaise and build relationships with outside agencies i.e. police, fire authorities, etc.
  • Become aware of criminal trends in the general area surrounding the hotel.
  • Ensure security of hotel parking facilities.
  • Conduct weekly checks on logbooks related to hotel vehicles.
  • Conduct on-the-job training programmes with all colleagues.
  • Ensure correct manning levels are maintained.
  • Abide by the House Rules at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with the Workman’s Compensation Act.
  • Exhibit a thorough understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and conduct training sessions with associates regarding Health and Safety.
  • Control and monitor Health and Safety Meetings and inspections.
  • Maintain all registers pertaining to Health and Safety.
  • Uphold all documentation relating to the Risk Auditors and the completion of the Risk Audit feedback.
  • Conduct risk assessments based on hazard identification.
  • Be aware of court procedures and laws relating to the giving of evidence.
  • Prepare and maintain graphs relating to various types of crimes and trends.
  • Be prepared to work in other departments when operational needs prevail.
  • Maintain the Electronic Fire system and ensure integrity as stipulated.
  • Maintain and service firefighting equipment.
  • Manage Access Control in line with policies stipulated.
  • Ensure the company remains compliant.
  • Manage staff in all security facets.
  • Liaise with external service providers on the maintenance of all Security Systems (Fire, Keys, Locks, and safes).
  • Manage and control the BOH keying system.
  • Develop and update security SOPs.
  • Manage lost and found property as per the lost and found policy.
  • Maintain good relationships with governmental authorities (Police, CID, State Security, and Civil Defense).
  • Conduct regular checks on all “field” officers to ensure they are alert and performing their duties effectively.
Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements
  • Minimum 3 – 4 years’ experience in a similar role in a 5-star hotel.
  • Ability to communicate with guests clearly and pleasantly in English and Arabic.
  • Thorough knowledge of hotel services and facilities.
  • Professional image and personality exuding confidence and leadership skills.
  • Ability to focus attention on details and organize, prioritize, and follow up.
  • Possess initiative and ability to work productively unsupervised, even under pressure.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of all guest and hotel information.
  • Must be a team player, working well with other departments and coworkers.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings if necessary.
  • Ability to think clearly, quickly, and make decisions/resolve problems with good judgment.
  • Ability to direct performance of staff and follow up with corrections where needed.
  • Ability to ascertain departmental training needs and provide such training.
  • Ability to remain calm and courteous with demanding/difficult guests and/or situations.
  • Knowledge of operation of the CCTV system.
  • SIRA CCTV Operator License.
