Roles and responsibilities

The Director, Government Relations will interact with Real-Estate authorities and other government agencies across the region to represent and protect the organization's business plans and interests as well as to make sure the best practices are shared between regulators of different countries. This role will oversee and manage a liaison program between the organization and various legislative entities. Key Responsibilities:

Proactively monitors, analyzes, interprets and steers government programs, policies, legislations and other activities that impact the company strategy
Provides advice on the implications due to regulatory agenda based on company strategy.
Evaluates emerging and longer-term opportunities and threats from potential policy changes and advises senior management accordingly
Creates and/or identifies opportunities for government officials to participate in PF activities, events and initiatives
Collaborate with all internal stakeholders to proactively project manage a solid cross-functional PF government agenda
Support the drafting of media and other communications and support materials aimed at advancing the broader advocacy goals of Property Finder
Joins trade associations and industry committees and seeks leadership roles.
Collaborates with industry advocates to build areas of common interest.

Desired Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Political Science, Public Relations, or related field required; MBA or law degree preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in advocacy or public policy required.
Excellent Project Management Skills and use of PM tools.
Public speaking, communication skills, presentation skills, data translation skills.
Native Arabic and Fluent English is a must.
Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Strong government contacts
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Public Policy Knowledge
- Deep understanding of government regulations , legislation , and public policy that may impact the organization.
- Ability to interpret legal documents, policies, and proposed legislation to determine their implications for the company.
Advocacy and Lobbying
- Expertise in lobbying to influence public policies, regulations, and laws that align with the organization’s goals and interests.
- Proven ability to advocate for positions on complex issues and build coalitions to support policy changes.
Government and Regulatory Affairs
- In-depth knowledge of government structures and the regulatory environment in which the organization operates.
- Ability to engage with government agencies, regulators, and elected officials to address concerns or opportunities.
Strategic Communications
- Strong communication skills for crafting and presenting key messages to government representatives, the media, and the public.
- Experience in preparing briefing materials , position papers , and testimonies for government hearings or meetings.
Relationship Management
- Building and maintaining relationships with key government officials, policymakers, and stakeholders.
- Networking and cultivating a trusted reputation within political and regulatory circles.
Crisis Management
- Ability to navigate government crises or public relations challenges that may involve government entities, ensuring that the organization’s interests are protected.
- Developing proactive strategies to manage government-related risks.
Negotiation and Diplomacy
- Skilled in negotiating agreements, compromises, or solutions with government officials and regulatory bodies.
- Understanding how to work within the constraints of political and governmental frameworks.
Public Affairs and Media Relations
- Experience in managing the organization’s public relations in relation to government and public sector issues.
- Crafting strategies for media outreach, public statements, and responses to government-related news and regulations.
