Job Overview: The Medical Laboratory Technician at Menalabs is responsible for conducting routine medical laboratory tests and procedures to support healthcare professionals in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Key Responsibilities:
- Specimen Collection and Processing:
- Collect, receive, and prepare patient samples (blood, urine, tissues, saliva, etc.) for analysis.
- Ensure proper labeling and documentation of specimens as per Laboratory Standards.
- Laboratory Testing:
- Perform a variety of routine laboratory tests using automated and manual techniques.
- Analyze and interpret test results, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Quality Control:
- Conduct quality control procedures to verify the accuracy and precision of laboratory tests.
- Monitor and maintain quality assurance and quality control records.
- Data Entry and Record-Keeping:
- Enter test results into the laboratory information system.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of tests, procedures, and patient information.
- Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, including physicians and nurses, regarding test results and patient information as needed.
- Collaborate with other laboratory staff to ensure smooth workflow.
- Compliance:
- Adhere to all laboratory safety and infection control protocols.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
- Continuing Education:
- Stay informed about new laboratory techniques, technologies, and industry trends.
- Participate in continuing education and training programs.
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field with 2 years of experience in clinical diagnostics lab.
- Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field with 3 years of experience in clinical diagnostics lab.
- Certification:
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by a recognized university with Eligibility letter from DOH/DHA/MOH
- Experience:
- Previous experience in a clinical laboratory setting is preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficient in the use of laboratory equipment and technology.
- Communication:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
