Your New Role: Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) for marine projects such as ports, dredging, and coastal developments, ensuring compliance with UAE and international regulations.
  • Identify, evaluate, and propose mitigation measures for environmental risks associated with marine construction activities.
  • Monitor and manage the environmental impact of marine projects on ecosystems, including coral reefs, mangroves, and marine fauna.
  • Develop and implement biodiversity conservation and management plans.
  • Ensure all projects adhere to UAE environmental regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with regulatory authorities to secure necessary environmental permits.
  • Perform water and sediment quality testing before, during, and after construction activities.
  • Develop strategies to reduce pollution and sedimentation impacts.
  • Oversee the management and disposal of waste generated by marine construction projects in line with UAE’s waste management and recycling regulations.
  • Design and execute monitoring programs for air, water, and noise pollution, providing real-time data and recommendations to minimize environmental disruptions.
  • Integrate sustainable practices into the design and execution of marine projects.
  • Assess climate change impacts on coastal infrastructure and recommend adaptive measures.
  • Prepare Environmental Management Plans (EMP) and compliance reports for ongoing projects.
  • Document findings and provide actionable recommendations for environmental improvements.
We’d Love to Hear from You If You Have:
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in marine environmental engineering or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience working in the UAE.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Marine Science, or a related discipline (a Master’s degree in Environmental Science or Coastal Engineering is a plus).
  • Proficiency in environmental modeling tools and software (e.g., MIKE21, Delft3D).
  • Strong knowledge of UAE and international environmental regulations and standards.
  • Relevant certifications such as ISO 14001 Lead Auditor or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and regulatory interactions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for effective environmental impact mitigation.
