Job ResponsibilitiesFully support, configure, maintain and upgrade corporate customer's networks and in house serversInstall and integrate new server hardware and applicationsKeep an eye out for needed updatesSupport and administer third-party applicationsEnsure network security and connectivityMonitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency) and test for weaknessesSet up user accounts, permissions and passwordsResolve problems reported by end userDefine network policies and proceduresSpecify system requirements and design solutionsResearch and make recommendations on server system administrationAssist with IT staffing and budgeting projections on a company-wide basisPlan and implement additions, deletions, and major modifications to the supporting infrastructureImplement network security at the corporate level as established by corporate Security DirectorServe as focal point for all inter-office IT-related mattersRecognize necessary network improvements and make suggestions to managementPlan, manage, and develop upgrades to core servers and network systems on a company-wide basisMake recommendations to management regarding company-wide system upgrades; execute upgrades as directed by managementOversee IT-related asset purchases on a company-wide basisManage software licenses on a company-wide basisParticipate as a key member in team meetingsEffectively communicate relevant IT-related information to management and peersChallenge others to develop as leaders while clarifying roles and responsibilitiesPursue excellence in all aspects of businessIdentify opportunities for change and convey the need for changeBuild expert knowledge in our industry and convey knowledge to othersEvokes creative and innovative thinking from team membersDetermine new, creative ways to employ teams on projects and distribute responsibilitiesWork across practices to share lessons learned and best practicesParticipate in programs relating to new technology and system performance evaluationsRecognize areas for internal improvement and develop plans for implementationReview the status reports of team members across internal work and new projectsComply with and enforce standard company policies and proceduresHandle annual budget and ensure cost effectiveness for the IT departmentManage and coordinate all IT-related matters including data center and server, network communications, mobile technology, telephony, security, and computer hardware and softwareTroubleshoot and solve problems related to hardware, software, and network issuesResearch and recommend acquisition of network hardware and softwareMonitor network utilization and performance, implement procedures for network optimization, reliability, and availabilityIdentify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in a timely mannerBuild long-term relationships with outside vendors for IT-related products and servicesManage information technology and computer systemsManage IT staff by recruiting, training, and coaching employees, communicating job expectations, and appraising their performance
