About the role:

Qatar Airways are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our Technical Engineering team as Manager Investigation Compliance & Safety.

Manager Investigations - Compliance and Safety will be responsible for managing all technical investigations related to accidents, incidents, flight turn backs, in-flight shut downs, flight diversions, maintenance error events, suspected unapproved parts, mechanical interruptions, and technical and mandatory occurrences in a professional manner to prevent recurrences in Qatar Airways and Customer's Aircraft to satisfy applicable requirements of Civil Aviation Authorities and IOSA requirements. Responsible to ensure compliance with Safety Management System (SMS) requirements.

Specific responsibilities for the role include:

Carry out all necessary actions to maintain an active internal and external reporting system to be in compliance with QCAA/EASA regulations and IOSA and ICAO requirements and report any abnormal issues to Compliance and Safety management as part of ongoing Compliance and Safety functions.

Carry out efficient investigations for accidents/incidents to address the root cause to prevent its recurrences to minimize the impact on cost and company image.

Follow up and verify the implementation of recommendations from all investigations/MEDA reports to enhance safety and minimize the cost due to accidents/incidents.

Review technical occurrences/safety/investigation related queries from other sections/departments or companies and report recommendations to Compliance and Safety management to ensure the highest standards are maintained at all times.

Provide feedback to Compliance and Safety management on all investigation issues that need to be addressed and communicated internally or externally (customers and authorities) to ensure all regulatory and customer requirements are met at all times.

Ensure compliance with SMS requirements within the Technical department to ensure regulatory compliance.

About you

The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

Relevant College or University qualification to minimum Bachelor's level (Degree in Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent) and at least 8 years in Civil Aviation Authority/Continuing Airworthiness/Quality Assurance Functions.

Or ICAO Type II License and at least 10 years experience in Civil Aviation Authority/Continuing Airworthiness/Quality Assurance Functions/Maintenance Inspector.

Training on QCAA/EASA regulations.

Training on accident/incident investigations.

Received training on at least 2 aircraft types operated by Qatar Airways.

Training on auditing techniques.

8 years experience in the Continuing Airworthiness/Maintenance organization environment.

Experience in investigations/occurrences management within Continuing Airworthiness/Maintenance organization.

3 years as an internal/certified auditor.
