ROLE OVERVIEW The Vertical Transportation Manager is responsible for overseeing the vertical transportation package, ensuring seamless integration with building design while adhering to safety and accessibility standards. Manage coordination with manufacturers, installation teams, and structural engineers to develop, review, and implement elevator specifications, drawings, and systems. Lead testing, commissioning, and maintenance of lifts and elevators, ensuring energy efficiency, innovation, and sustainability. Provide expertise in cost estimation, value engineering, and compliance with universal design standards. Drive integration of advanced elevator technologies and building automation systems while maintaining quality assurance protocols. Foster collaboration with fire safety and accessibility teams to deliver safe, efficient, and user-friendly vertical transportation solutions. REQUIREMENTS SUMMARY- Familiarity with learning and development methodologies, programs, and platforms.
- Experience in program development, evaluation and enhancement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Ability to establish strategic partnerships with training providers and learning and development entities.
- Experience in conducting training needs analysis to identify learning and development needs in organizations.
- Familiarity with data gathering and analysis techniques through benchmarking and customer feedback to drive continuous improvement.
- Ability to leverage technology and digital capability to design and deliver learning and development programs.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Oversee the vertical transportation package, including lifts and elevators.
- Coordinate with elevator manufacturers and installation teams.
- Ensure compliance with specific elevator and lift safety codes.
- Manage the integration of vertical transportation systems with building design.
- Develop and review vertical transportation specifications and drawings.
- Coordinate elevator pit and shaft construction with structural engineers.
- Oversee installation of elevator guide rails, cars, and mechanical systems.
- Manage testing and commissioning of lifts and elevators.
- Ensure proper integration of elevator control systems with building management systems.
- Coordinate with fire safety teams for elevator emergency operations.
- Oversee maintenance and service contracts for installed elevator systems.
- Develop detailed elevator specifications, including car sizes, door types, and finishes.
- Coordinate with structural engineers on shaft design and support requirements.
- Work with electrical engineers to ensure proper power supply and distribution.
- Integrate elevator design with building’s fire safety and emergency systems.
- Recommend energy-efficient elevator technologies (e.g., regenerative drives).
- Advise on sustainable materials for elevator car interiors.
- Propose smart elevator management systems to optimize energy use.
- Ensure compliance with accessibility standards (e.g., ADA requirements).
- Recommend features for users with visual, auditory, or mobility impairments.
- Advise on the integration of escalators or moving walks where appropriate.
- Stay informed about emerging elevator technologies and assess their applicability.
- Evaluate and recommend advanced systems like destination dispatch or twin elevators.
- Advise on the integration of elevator systems with building automation and IoT platforms.
- Develop detailed cost estimates for vertical transportation systems.
- Identify potential areas for cost savings without compromising performance or safety.
- Conduct life-cycle cost analyses to inform long-term decision-making.
- Conduct regular design reviews to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Coordinate with quality assurance teams to develop inspection and testing protocols.
- Review and approve shop drawings and technical submittals from elevator manufacturers.

- 7+ years’ experience and proven track record in Vertical Transportation with partners, with 4 years in a management role, preferably in the Middle East.
- Specialized knowledge of vertical transportation systems and technologies.
- Familiarity with elevator codes and standards (e.g., ASME A17.1/CSA B44).
- Experience in managing complex elevator installation projects.
- Experience with various elevator types (e.g., traction, hydraulic, machine-room-less).
- Knowledge of advanced elevator technologies (destination dispatch, regenerative drives).
- Understanding of elevator traffic analysis and selection criteria.
- Excellent communication skills, with high standard of English (oral and written).
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
- Certification in elevator systems or vertical transportation management.
