We are looking for an experienced Proposal and Bid Specialist who will be responsible for leading the bidding process for multiple projects of varying nature, size, and value, including assessing received (Requests for Proposals) RFPs and preparing both commercial and technical aspects of fee proposals.This role will work under the guidance of other senior commercial staff and in close collaboration with relevant design, technical & engineering teams. The role will involve studying and understanding the requirements of prospective customers and positioning the company's design solutions as the best offerings, both technically and commercially. In addition to the primary role of preparing fee proposals, the successful candidate will be assigned one or more commercial operations support activities, such as maintaining schedules and databases used in the preparation of proposals.Primary ActivitiesInterpret received RFPs to identify the project scope of work outlined by the clients and/or in direct communication with the clients and prepare fee proposals that address prospective customers' needs and expectations.Source and liaise with possible sub-consultants for projects which may include a sub-consultant scope, including sending RFPs to the sub-consultants, clarifying queries, reviewing, and analyzing the scope and fees received from sub-consultants.Review and respond effectively to RFPs clearly identifying and addressing prospective customers' requirements, presenting the company's landscape design services and deliverables in the best light to assure the client that Cracknell understands their project vision and can fulfill the technical requirements with best-in-class expertise.Become proficient in evaluating Cracknell's fees for services using in-house methods and calculator tools and liaise with Design Directors to discuss the fees and commercial terms of the proposals, incorporating the comments received from the Directors into the final fee proposal document to be issued to the clients.Respond to any post-tender clarifications and queries from the clients and prepare revisions to fee proposals and submitted tenders based on clients' requirements.Prepare variation requests for current ongoing projects for variations to the scope of work from the originally agreed scope of the contract, as required, liaising with the project Design Team and project manager.Communicate effectively with clients and consultants to ensure clarity on bid requirements.Leverage strong technical knowledge, sales, and negotiation skills to understand clients' needs.Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication and reporting skills including reading and interpretation of RFPs, technical documentation, specifications, reports, proposals, technical briefs, contracts, and tender documents.Have a background or experience working in a Landscape or Architectural design practice with a good working knowledge of design services, deliverables, and delivery workflow.Awareness and ability to use current market conditions and industry trends, good knowledge and consideration of local tax and regulatory implications on project cost for project costing and fee proposals.Possess advanced MS Excel skills (formulae, cross-referencing, pivot tables), AutoCAD knowledge (open drawings, check dimensions), and Indesign knowledge is an added advantage (to build fee proposals).Management and Corporate Competencies:Ability to work under pressure, multitask, manage priorities, and meet timelines.A willingness to share information, learn, and be trained in new skills.Ability to work both independently and effectively as part of a collaborative team.Initiative and proactiveness.Position Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture/Architecture/Civil Engineering/Quantity Survey.5 - 8 years in Design, Project Management, Landscape, Architectural, Engineering Consultancies.Regional experience - UAE/GCC.High proficiency in spoken and written English.
