Job Title: Senior Education Officer Position Summary: The Senior Education Officer is an energetic and adaptable team member, coordinating the implementation of all aspects of The Digital School's education provision - digitalization of curriculum, students' self-directed learning, educators' professional development, online assessment and digital qualifications & NEASC international accreditation. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate all aspects of the preparation of national content for each location:• Liaise with external content aggregators, volunteer teachers and local implementation teams as appropriate• Evaluate and propose appropriate methods for content preparation in each location• Prepare and maintain The Digital School Lesson Builder Kit procedures and templates to guide those preparing the content• Approve OERS• Review and approve sample lessons and unit plans for each new content batch (new subject, new grade level, new country), ensuring incremental implementation of The Digital School pedagogy model• Maintain up-to-date tracking data for content preparation for each location and make available to The Digital School team as needed (e.g. operations, project plan)• Create and maintain feedback and evaluation procedures aligned with The Digital School's MEAL strategy and Theory of ChangeCoordinate the development of The Digital School's curriculum:• Contribute to the development of The Digital School curriculum strategy• Identify key areas of student need cross-location that can be filled by The Digital School's purpose-built content• Investigate potential third-party content for The Digital School curation• Prepare and review policy and procedure documents as neededCoordinate The Digital School approach to assessment and qualifications:• Contribute to the development assessment and qualifications strategy• Propose potential assessment and qualifications providers/partners and coordinate the evaluation and selection processCoordinate pool of on-call specialist consultants:• Identify key areas of specialism required• Propose potential specialists• Coordinate the evaluation and selection process• Coordinate the work of the specialists• Monitor the available budgetCoordinate the professional development program:• Liaise with external professional development providers/partners to ensure smooth access, participation and completion for each cohort• Coordinate the delivery of pre-orientation training to local implementation teams• Coordinate the ongoing development of The Digital School's professional development program• Identify areas of need and propose potential new providers/partners• Prepare and maintain appropriate procedures and templates to guide those providing and those participating in The Digital School's professional development• Maintain up-to-date tracking data for each cohort and make available to the team as needed (e.g. operations, project plan)• Create and maintain feedback and evaluation procedures aligned with The Digital School's MERL strategyFacilitate the development of The Digital School Community of Practitioners, including:• Curate an eco-system of resources to support the needs of educators• Identify and implement appropriate channels to nurture educator networks Knowledge, Skills and Understandings: Strong positive working practices in a dynamic, evolving environment:• Manage workflow and prioritize tasks• Be an active team member, willing to help others• Use initiative to create and adjust systems and processes• Show flexibility of timings to accommodate The Digital School's priorities and time zone span• Follow The Digital School's policies and proceduresExcellent communication skills with co-workers and stakeholders at all levels:• Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic• Convey key messages clearly and succinctly, using a professional communication style• Listen carefully and identify your own action points from meetings and discussions• Consider the audience and pay attention to details such as consistent font, layout etc., when creating written documents.Commitment to The Digital School concept, vision, mission and values:• Understand The Digital School educational context• Be confident using digital technologies, and actively seek innovative solutions for efficiency and scalability• Have familiarity with educational challenges in underserved communities• Have experience with Measurement, Evaluation, Research, Learning (MERL) and contribute to external accreditation processes
