Roles and ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise Process Engineering Teams in Feasibility, Conceptual Studies, Pre-FEED, FEED, and EPC Projects.Mentor and engage in the training and development of junior engineers in the team.Undertake process design work of units as required, supervising and checking the work of assigned engineers on the project.Execute process engineering activities within the budget and schedule while maintaining the technical integrity of the design.Ensure that detail design methods, standards, and data used conform with Client's requirements.Responsible for the checking or approval of the basis of design, process calculations, and safety-related calculations to develop robust designs.Review and approve Process Flow Diagrams, P&IDs, PSFS, DPTDs, Equipment & Instrument specifications, Process Descriptions, cause, and Effect charts, etc.Review and approve dynamic simulation studies, transient studies, surge studies, Minimum Metal Design Temperature (MDMT) studies, etc.Review and approve depressurization studies, flare load estimation, and flare system design.Ensure a high standard of safety is achieved and Environmental and Quality Assurance procedures are followed.Review and approve safety-related calculations and provide input to HAZOP, SIL, and other safety reviews as required.Identify new methodologies for work processes required for higher productivity.Contribute to the review of supplier quotations and project reviews.Ensure compliance with Licensor's Secrecy Agreements in the work performed.Participate in technical meetings and handle discussions with client engineers.Identify issues that impede project progress and report to Project Managers and Engineering Managers.As Lead Discipline Engineer, manage the team of engineers and designers, delivering the engineering requirements of the project.Assist project team in the preparation of planning packages, scheduling, and weekly reporting.Assist in the preparation of pre-commissioning, commissioning procedures, and operating manuals.Provide assistance in man-hours estimation and scheduling for proposals.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in chemical engineering or related field.Minimum of 15+ years of experience in the Oil and Gas/Petrochemical industry.PMC experience is an added advantage.Experience/knowledge in Hydrogen/Ammonia production.Minimum of 10 years of experience with Engineering Consultancy.Proficient in Process Simulation software such as HYSYS, Flare System Analyzer, PipeNet, Pipesim, OLGA, etc., and should be a subject matter expert.Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software.Experience working in a multi-project/multi-disciplined environment and throughout all engineering and design phases of projects.Desired Candidate ProfileProcess Design: Ability to design processes that meet operational and safety standards, using engineering principles and methodologies.Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of chemical, mechanical, and thermodynamic principles relevant to process engineering.Data Analysis: Proficiency in analyzing process data to identify inefficiencies, trends, and areas for improvement.Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to address process-related issues effectively.Project Management: Basic skills in project planning and execution, including managing timelines, resources, and budgets.Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with team members and presenting technical information.Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards to ensure compliance in process design and implementation.Collaboration: Ability to work well in cross-functional teams, collaborating with other engineers and stakeholders to achieve project goals.Safety Awareness: Understanding of safety practices and the ability to incorporate safety measures into process design.Software Proficiency: Familiarity with process simulation and design software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS, AutoCAD) for modeling and analysis.Areas of ExpertiseProcess Optimization: Identifying opportunities to improve process efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.Scale-Up Techniques: Knowledge of scaling processes from laboratory to production levels while maintaining performance and quality.Equipment Selection: Evaluating and selecting appropriate equipment for specific processes based on performance and cost considerations.Testing and Validation: Conducting tests and validations to ensure processes perform as expected and meet regulatory standards.Documentation: Maintaining thorough documentation of processes, designs, and operational procedures for compliance and training purposes.
