We are hiring a Taxation Executive. The Taxation Executive is responsible for managing all tax-related tasks, including Value Added Tax (VAT) and Corporate Tax (CT), ensuring compliance with Dubai and UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) regulations. The role involves preparing and filing tax returns, handling tax audits, and optimizing tax strategies to ensure minimal tax liability while staying compliant with UAE tax laws. The executive will work closely with the finance department to ensure accurate and timely reporting. Key Responsibilities:
- UAE Tax Compliance:
- Prepare, review, and file VAT and Corporate Tax returns in compliance with UAE tax laws.
- Ensure all tax obligations (VAT, Corporate Tax) are met according to the deadlines set by the UAE Federal Tax Authority.
- Monitor updates in tax laws and implement changes within the organization as required.
- Maintain accurate tax records and ensure timely payment of all tax liabilities.
- Corporate Tax:
- Ensure compliance with UAE Corporate Tax regulations (applicable from 2023), calculating and filing the company's corporate tax returns.
- Review business operations and ensure corporate tax planning is optimized to minimize liabilities.
- VAT Compliance:
- Manage VAT filings and reconciliation processes for input and output VAT.
- Ensure the accuracy of VAT returns and correct classification of transactions.
- Handle VAT refund applications and address VAT-related queries from the FTA.
- Tax Audits and Liaison:
- Represent the company during tax audits by the FTA, ensuring all documentation is in order.
- Respond to queries from the FTA and provide necessary support during audit procedures.
- Collaborate with external auditors or tax advisors for comprehensive tax planning and advice.
- Tax Planning and Advisory:
- Advise management on tax-efficient strategies and the tax implications of new projects, expansions, or corporate restructuring.
- Identify opportunities for tax savings and optimization.
- Assist with reviewing contracts, agreements, and financial structures to ensure compliance with UAE tax regulations.
- Financial Reporting and Reconciliation:
- Work with the finance team to ensure that tax provisions and liabilities are accurately reflected in financial reports.
- Ensure all tax-related transactions are correctly posted and reconciled in the accounting system.
- Perform tax forecasting to estimate future tax liabilities.
- International Tax and Cross-Border Transactions:
- Ensure compliance with international tax treaties, including transfer pricing regulations.
- Advise on the tax implications of cross-border transactions and ensure proper documentation.
- FTA Portal Management:
- Handle submissions, tax payments, and correspondence through the UAE FTA online portal.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of any FTA system updates or changes in submission procedures.
- Document Management and Record Keeping:
- Maintain detailed records of all tax filings, payments, and supporting documents for audit purposes.
- Ensure that all tax documentation is accessible and updated regularly.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience in taxation, with a strong understanding of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax laws.
- Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax regulations.
- Familiarity with the UAE FTA portal and tax submission processes.
- Understanding of international tax and transfer pricing regulations (advantageous).
- Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting and tax software (e.g., Zoho, Tally, or similar platforms).
- Strong analytical and attention-to-detail skills.
- Excellent communication skills to explain complex tax matters to non-financial personnel.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Professional tax certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CTA.
- Experience working with multinational companies or within a corporate group structure.
