We respect, embrace, and invite diversity in all forms to actively cultivate an environment where everyone can flourish and realise their full potential.Responsibilities:Act as Public Health & Fire Protection lead on selected projects by managing the successful delivery of high-quality multi and single disciplinary projects.Lead project teams to successfully deliver high-quality discipline projects in accordance with corporate and client requirements.Develop a thorough design philosophy, effectively contributing to project inception, development, and detailed delivery across all design stages.Undertake regular reviews of all key projects within the area of responsibility and proactively engage with clients and partners to gather feedback and deliver service improvement initiatives.Prepare design reports, technical notes, calculations, and project specifications, in addition to preparing markups for BIM progress.Review Public Health and Fire Protection deliverables (BIM model, drawings, calculations, and specifications) during each stage, from concept to construction.Ensure the correctness, accuracy, and complete multi-disciplinary coordination of the design documentation in accordance with QA/QC review processes.Ensure that the design solutions provided to clients are both energy efficient and sustainable.Ensure the design solutions provided to clients are cost-effective with no effect on sustainability targets or quality.Manage challenges in projects and apply innovative solutions.Carry out value engineering as required for projects.Attend external meetings and prepare design presentations and reports.Coordinate and liaise with all other design team members, including architects, structural engineers, clients, project managers, and QS.Demonstrate critical thinking skills and the ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.Exhibit strong attention to detail, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.Understand and control the financial and commercial aspects of projects.Ensure efficient utilization of the team and resources.Provide technical support to respond to prequalification documents, RFPs, contractor's RFIs, and other client inquiries.Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies.Share knowledge with team members and assist in developing design strategies, space planning, and calculations.Develop a positive collaborative culture within the team, where all technicians and engineers feel valued and respected.Input into business development activities through participation in external market profile raising activities and functions.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.Preferably a Chartered member of an internationally recognized professional body (e.g., CIBSE).EXPERIENCEMinimum of 10 years' design experience, with at least 5 years' minimum experience in Middle East projects.Proven track record in building services design across various sectors, including high rise, commercial, residential, retail, healthcare, industrial, refurbishment, etc.Proven record as a Project Engineer on several projects.Experienced at:Presenting to clientsAttending demanding client meetingsPreparing project proposals for agreementArranging project resourcesPlanning and execution of projectsTECHNICAL SKILLS / KNOWLEDGESpecific areas of anticipated technical skills include:Advanced knowledge of Public Health & Fire Protection design principles for all systems such as sewer, stormwater, water supply, gas, compressed air, medical gases, solar thermal systems, black/grey water reuse, treatment plant systems, sustainable energy design, fire sprinkler systems, fire standpipe systems, water spray systems, water mist systems, gaseous suppression systems, etc.Proven ability to carry out both manual and computer-aided calculations, problem solving, technical and financial analysis, etc.Well-versed in BIM 360 usage and Navisworks.Knowledgeable in fire protection calculation and design software such as HASS, Elite, etc.Adequate knowledge of BIM/digitalization techniques and standards.Preferably strong software capability and proficiency in BIM-Revit.Knowledgeable of local and international design standards, BSEN, ASHRAE, IOP, NFPA, etc.Knowledgeable of local statutory authorities' regulations and submission requirements in the Middle East.About RambollFounded in Denmark, Ramboll is a foundation-owned people company.
