About the Role

Upon completing this period, there may be opportunities to transition to another project, subject to availability and need for additional support.
Job Purpose
This role is for a Mechanical and Plumbing Site Engineer.
Coordination and supervision of mechanical and plumbing site works.
Responsibilities
Reports to Mechanical & Plumbing (M&P) Engineer and MEP Project Manager.
Supervises the technical activities related to HVAC, fire fighting, irrigation, water features, swimming pool installations, hot and cold water systems, sewerage and storm water systems, and natural gas works.
Ensures construction activities are executed as per the approved drawings and coordinated with other disciplines, trades, and departments, in a systematic way and is compliant with related standards, rules, regulations, and stakeholder's requirements.
Monitors the progress of electrical works and ensures the execution in accordance with the construction program.
Keeps or establishes daily reports of the M&P works and supports the preparation of the work progress forecasts, including the major events occurred on site.
Verifies the compliance of delivered materials and the executed works with related specifications, IFC design, shop drawings, method statements, standards, rules, regulations, and stakeholder's requirements.
Arranges and coordinates inspections for installation works, over testing, commissioning, and de-snagging until final handover.
Coordinates, verifies, and processes the M&P site clearances.
Ensures there is no interference or misuse (intentionally or recklessly) of anything provided for health, safety, and environment or welfare under the relevant statutory provision.
Any other duties as may be required by the Department Head / Organization.
Technical Skills & Competency
Proficiency in MS Office in particular Outlook, Excel, Word. Any additional skills as a plus: AutoCAD, Aconex, Navisworks (Viewer), BIM360.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
Minimum 5 - 10 years' experience in Mechanical and Plumbing Engineering with 3 - 5 years as M&P Site Engineer in the UAE/Middle East.
Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English.
Specific experience in construction of large-scale projects including high-rise buildings, residential buildings, commercial/office buildings, hotels, etc.
Detailed knowledge of Abu Dhabi uniform plumbing code, ASHRAE, UAE fire and life safety code of practice, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), TABREED requirements, ADWEA/ADDC water regulations, ADNOC natural gas standards and specifications, ADM and SVS (former ADSSC) requirements, and other related authority requirements, standards, rules, and regulations.
Good knowledge of mechanical and plumbing systems, products, and materials.
Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
Experienced in managing multiple Subcontractors on site.
Strong analytical and interpersonal abilities.
Energetic, enthusiastic, and self-motivated.
Capable of preparing/verifying mechanical and plumbing studies e.g., heat load calculations, CFD analysis, hydraulic calculations, water demand and drainage/runoff calculations, etc.
Ability to work under pressure and manage change effectively.
Candidates with ADDC (Mechanical) Competent Person Certificate are preferred.
