In order to strengthen our high professional risk engineering services, we are looking for a dedicated Risk Control Engineer with underwriting skills, operating in our Dubai office.

Your role:

Carry out comprehensive Risk Control Engineering Services, including coordination and execution of risk inspections, preparation of market reports for our lead accounts, and follow-up on recommendations/requests for improvements; all from a technical as well as from an insurance perspective and in close cooperation with the underwriters.

Support our underwriters with providing technical expertise and performing technical risk assessments for large construction projects.

Support in acquisition and soliciting activities with defined business partners such as brokers, cedants, and insureds with focus on new CAR and IDI business.

Discuss LCE and related insurance aspects with clients (insurance) and project managers, acting as a link between construction representatives and insurers (cedants and brokers).

Participating in internal and external training measures including holding presentations.

Managing the Risk Management portfolio, including optimization and maintenance of existing monitoring systems, overall coordination of all scheduled risk inspections along with cost control monitoring.

Optimizing corporate risk management standards including but not limited to standardized risk control programs, reporting structures, inspection procedures, and monitoring systems.

Assisting with claims handling (where applicable) and close interaction with our claims department.

Your profile:

University degree in civil engineering with several years' experience in building construction.

Minimum 5 years' experience in professional Loss Control Engineering, preferably with a focus on complex Engineering & Property risks.

Ability to understand complex, technology-driven risks.

In-depth knowledge of risk assessment from both technical and insurers' perspectives.

Solid understanding of standard CAR / EAR insurance wordings and structures.

Fluent spoken and written business English; Arabic skills of advantage.

Proven strong communication skills.

Analytical thinking and solution-oriented approach to problems, with a willingness to assume responsibility.

Entrepreneurial DNA, passion for innovation and creativity; 'can-do' mentality.

High degree of intercultural acumen and high level of commitment; market knowledge is a plus.

Team player, able to integrate and work in a team of highly experienced CAR underwriters.

Ability to work with uncertainties in an environment of ongoing change.

Willing and able to travel regularly throughout the region.
