About The Role

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of working with and guiding project teams in building structures projects, possessing a sound technical background, and will be working on various building structures including mixed use developments, residential, retail, etc. You will be expected to combine managerial competencies and technical responsibilities, promote a collaborative approach and inspire the team to deliver projects to quality, budget and timescales.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Manage a structural building integrity programme including condition assessment and review of remediation proposals.
  2. Prepare designs, analytical 3D models, specifications, calculations and drawings for new build schemes; obtain statutory approvals where needed.
  3. Provide team leadership for the preparation of concept, scheme, and detailed design calculations and drawings for structural and multi-discipline projects.
  4. Maintain ownership of the structural engineering analysis and design.
  5. Prepare risk assessments for maintenance and/or refurbishment projects.
  6. Inspect works carried out on site and monitor quality and compliance with design drawings.
  7. Be accountable for the timely production and delivery of reliable design solutions, reports, specifications and drawings.
  8. Ensure all design work is carried out in accordance with Company's quality standard procedures.
  9. Provide effective task and structural resource management and monitor against agreed scope, programme and budget.
  10. Provide structural technical support and manage the technical accuracy of the project delivery.
  11. Be able to present technical aspects of a project and structural design approach to technical and non-technical team members/stakeholders.
  12. Maintain a comprehensive knowledge and appreciation of current technical engineering codes and practices and take a role in technical matters both at project and divisional level.
  13. Possess exceptional digital/structural modelling skills and provide guidance to junior engineers in developing digital skills to required levels for the increased efficiency and quality of the structural design.
