Job Summary: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Jewelry Design Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in jewelry design, with the ability to teach both beginner and advanced students. The teacher will be responsible for developing curriculum, delivering lessons, and guiding students through the design and creation process.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum and meet the educational needs of students at various skill levels.Teach students the fundamentals of jewelry design, including sketching, modeling, and rendering techniques.Provide instruction on the use of jewelry design tools, software (such as CAD), and materials.Guide students through the design and creation of their own jewelry pieces, offering feedback and support.Stay updated with current trends and techniques in jewelry design to ensure the curriculum remains relevant and comprehensive.Evaluate student progress through assessments, critiques, and portfolio reviews.Encourage creativity and originality in student work, fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.Manage classroom dynamics, ensuring a safe and inclusive space for all students.Organize and participate in exhibitions or showcases of student work.Maintain equipment, materials, and supplies, and ensure that the studio or classroom is well-organized and functional.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Jewelry Design, Fine Arts, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).Professional experience in jewelry design, with a strong portfolio showcasing personal work.Previous teaching experience, preferably in an academic or workshop setting.Proficiency in jewelry design software (e.g., CAD) and traditional handcrafting techniques.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.Creative, detail-oriented, and patient, with a passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.Ability to work collaboratively with other faculty members and contribute to the development of the department.Preferred Skills:Knowledge of gemology, metalsmithing, and various jewelry-making techniques.Experience with 3D printing and other modern fabrication methods.Familiarity with the history of jewelry design and contemporary trends.
