We are one of the most profitable companies in the world, as well as amongst the top five global companies by market capitalization.OverviewSaudi Aramco is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to work as an expert robotics designer in the Intelligent Systems Team, under the Oil & Gas Network Integrity Division within the Research and Development Department. Oil & Gas Network Integrity R&D Division focuses on rapid technology development aiming at providing solutions for integrity related challenges. The division aims to decrease the annual cost of corrosion and its related activities including inspection, monitoring and maintenance. The selected candidate is expected to join the Intelligent Systems Team (IS) where he will be contributing to their research and development portfolio that includes intelligent systems and robotics solutions for integrity monitoring, reliability enhancement and inspection technologies. The Intelligent Systems Team is very multidisciplinary and requires each team member to contribute to the overall creation of various robotic solutions based on his specialty and assignment. The selected candidate for this position will be contributing as a mechanical design engineer. This role requires the candidate to design new mechanical systems to meet project objectives related to the prototyping, validation, and deployment of intelligent systems or robotic technologies. The candidate must demonstrate ability to develop and mentor young engineers in specialized areas of product design, robotics, magnetic-based movements, statics and dynamics, various locomotion systems, integrity and condition monitoring, and mechanical control systems. The candidate must exhibit skills in developing innovative, robust and reliable robotic solutions to novel applications including challenging manipulation, locomotion, perception and inspection tasks. The candidate must have the ability to lead development tasks/projects to address challenges experienced by Saudi Aramco operations. This will include coordinating technical team members, performing techno-economic analyses, and delivering technical presentations.Key ResponsibilitiesYou will be required to perform and demonstrate the following: You are expected to designs, prepare manufacturing package and assemble new mechanical systems to meet project objectives related to the prototyping, testing, and deployment of intelligent systems or robotic technologies; research and develop innovative, robust and reliable robotic solutions to novel applications including challenging manipulation, locomotion, perception and inspection tasks; mentor and provide advice in a specialized area of technology such as product design, robotics, magnetic-based movements, statics and dynamics, various locomotion systems, integrity and condition monitoring, and mechanical control systems; lead development tasks/projects to address challenges experienced by Saudi Aramco operations; file patents and present technical findings in published journal articles and at intra-company meetings.Minimum RequirementsAs the successful candidate, you will hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with mechatronics discipline focus. You must have at least three years of experience in technological or industrial sector with substantial hands-on experience in robotic platforms or automation in an academic, commercial or industrial setting. This includes having a strong mechanical design background for the purpose of developing intelligent technologies. You must have excellent command of oral and written English to demonstrate active participation in technology development, technical seminars and/or original industrial technology deployment. You will have experience with magnetic mechanical systems, inspection and monitoring systems, mechatronics, and machinery. You must have experience in using Computer Aided Design (CAD) Platforms such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ProE or CATIA (SolidWorks is ideal). You should have experience in using manufacturing tools such as Mills, Drills, Truing machining, CNC and similar tools. A background in programing, control systems, dynamics, instrumentation, mechanics and design is also preferred along with experience in product development, prototype development and/or research & development of new mechatronics systems.
