Supervises the activities of the Instrument Maintenance Technicians according to Company maintenance procedures, and schedules and ensures that work objectives and programmes are implemented.
Initiates cold/hot work permits and complimentary permits for works to be performed.
Ensures that all necessary procedures and standing orders are followed while the equipment is made ready for safe maintenance intervention after Production approval.
Responsible for the development of preventive and routine maintenance schedules, ensuring that all maintenance is carried out during planned shutdowns and that all standby units are fully operational.
Reviews and issues work orders and determines maintenance and repair priorities in consultation with operations personnel.
Initiates and implements necessary instrument and system modifications in line with operational and plant shutdown requirements or Team Leader / Island Manager, according to company policy and standards.
Prepares budgets and detailed work programmes and preventive maintenance schedules for instrumentation and control equipment, in conjunction with other sections involved.
For the forthcoming and new projects being implemented, monitors construction & commissioning activities, as applicable within other trades, and ensures that these activities are carried out in accordance with the work permits issued.
Reviews inventories of spare parts and materials at Islands to ensure availability for required work programmes, issues requisitions for stock materials and prepares requisitions for purchase items for Island Manager approval.
Supervises defect maintenance and repair work on instrumentation, control Fire and Gas systems, and telecommunication systems involving field instruments, control room, telecommunications equipment for ZADCO use, fire and gas system, and packages instrument and control.
Implements and follows-up on the Development Programme of UAE Nationals Developees and regularly assesses them.
Monitors the performance of subordinates and appraises their performance on a quarterly and annual basis. Subsequently, identifies training needs of subordinates, especially UAE Nationals.
Ensures all maintenance documentation is completed correctly, particularly the maintenance log, type of fault, work carried out, and time, manpower, and materials used.
Submits daily, weekly, and monthly work progress reports and specific technical reports as required.
Checks and authorizes work orders, timesheets, mission orders, and leave.
