The Opportunity: As a Lead, Therapy Area Ophthalmology for Saudi Arabia and UAE, you will be reporting directly into the Head of Medical Affairs MEA and be based out of our offices in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. You will be responsible for implementing the medical strategy (Core Medical Plan) in the designated therapeutic area at the affiliate level. You would endorse company science-driven partnership and collaboration with medical communities and academic institutions in the country and share internally the external experts' feedbacks and insights to enhance therapy area strategy development & planning process. Key Activities for this role: You will be the 2nd level interface of medical affairs with Key External Experts and Healthcare Organizations (field/office work ratio is 50/50). Support medical strategies development and implementation. Support and coordinating with cross function teams, to offer product medical support Develop country-based Medical Plans in alignment with regional brand medical strategy. A Key expert for scientific knowledge to country company staff and advises other business areas on medical and scientific matters as required. Provide external feedbacks and insights to enhance therapy area strategy development and planning process. Essential Knowledge & Experience: Proven experience in medical affairs department with a focus on Ophthalmology therapy area is must. Experience within Saudi Arabia with a global pharmaceutical organization is essential. Profound knowledge in medical compliance and feed-in new related local regulations/requirements Strong written and verbal communication in English and Arabic Preferred Knowledge & Experience: Relevant knowledge and experience with product launches in the region. Educations/Qualifications: Master's Degree in Science, Medical doctor or Pharma D or equivalent. Additional information: This is a permanent, full-time position The position is based in Riyadh, KSA Candidates should be based in KSA This position follows our hybrid working model. Role requires a blend of home and a minimum of 1-2 days in our Saudi office. Flexibility may be required in line with business needs.
