Job Summary
The Senior Technical Engineer performs design management of various types of projects including residential, commercial, and warehouse/industrial buildings. Reviews the structural design of projects, initiates value engineering exercises, and identifies potential issues/constraints in design and construction during the early stages. Checks appropriateness of structural system and correctness of design criteria proposed by consultants. Provides direction to consultants to ensure complete submission of structural deliverables within project schedule. Manages the documentation of structural drawings in coordination with architectural and MEP Works.
Job Responsibilities
Analyze and configure the basic structural components of a building or other structure to ensure design quality.
Review design criteria (basic structural components, geotechnical properties, wind loads, seismic loads, fire protection) for adequacy.
Analyze structural elements to ensure design quality.
Review loading plan for compliance with codes and project operational purpose.
Determine pressures on each component due to human use or environmental pressures.
Study impact of temporary works on structural elements, provide calculations and ensure compliance.
Liaise with designers to agree on safe designs that fit the aesthetic concept of the project.
Provide safe structural solutions to meet architectural and MEP requirements.
Additional Responsibilities
Job Knowledge & Skills
Advanced proficiency in CAD software and other design tools for drafting and creating technical drawings.
Extensive knowledge of architectural and engineering principles to coordinate technical aspects of projects.
Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards for compliance.
Excellent communication and leadership skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
Problem-solving abilities to address technical issues and optimize project outcomes.
ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills, are required for this role.
Job Experience
Minimum 8 years of working experience, with 5 years of relevant working experience. 2 years in GCC is a plus.
