Job Description • Act as thefunctional head of the hse department with responsibility for thedevelopment and management of all group hse activities relating tothe application of the approved hse management system and hseprocedures for all group companies and subsidiaries •Develop, seek approval for, and monitor the implementation andmaintenance of the group management system, hse manual and hseprograms for all projects and facilities. • Act as theinterface with senior management on matters of group hse to ensurerelevance and importance of hse management system requirements arefully understood and that the hse programs are implemented andadhered to. • Develop, implement and administer hsetraining and development programs, including the hse curriculum,for the motivation of personnel and ensure that competent staff areassigned for functional activities. • Develop, co-ordinateand administer hse leadership training for senior management toreinforce hse awareness and maintaining of hse management systemand standards. • Develop, approve and monitor theimplementation of the group hse management system and hse structureto ensure a standardised approach on all group companies •Develop and implement hse awareness and hse incentive programs forprojects to motivate staff and increase hse awareness. •Conduct site audits and visits to all group projects and facilitiesto ensure compliance with hse requirements and hse managementsystem. Identify, rectify and follow-up on non-compliances anddetected irregularities and make changes to procedures whereneeded. • Identify hse staff recruitment and competencefor group companies and subsidiaries • Setting safetygoals and hold people accountable to them. • Conductingboth face-to-face and online safety training. • Puttingappropriate safety controls in place • Delivering avariety of training courses to managers and employees within thecompany. • Creating a safer working environment •Creating and maintaining a climate in which individuals feel safetyhas high value. • Revising procedures and regulations toensure that they are up to date. • Ensuring that allaccidents and near misses are reported and investigated inaccordance with the companies' policies. •Explaining complex procedures and regulations in easy to understandterms to members of staff. • Investigating issues ofnon-compliance.
