Assistant IT Manager

This position is responsible for managing all local computer technology and services in the Hotel which can include, but is not limited to: networks, hardware, operating systems, anti-virus, internet access and all related systems, office automation and email systems, departmental systems for front office, back office, sales & catering, personnel, spa, and other network based software supporting these systems; network security and compliance; where not the responsibility of the Engineering department, cabling, access control system, voice and guest technologies. The role will be responsible for management of the IT and potentially AV staff in the hotel. The Director of IT role is only for larger hotels in MEA and China Regions.Key Responsibilities
As an Assistant IT Manager your role will include key responsibilities such as:- Monitor the operation and security of all computer hardware and ensure that it is operating properly
- Maintain accurate inventory and record of all hardware, software and manuals purchased by the hotel
- Ensure that all software runs with no output errors, no response time problems and functioning according to specifications
- Prepare a monthly report regarding the systems and issues related to smooth operation of application software
- Maintain the documentation of the telephone system configuration and all lines
- Understand all the department working procedures and perform the related tasks as described
- Carry out the repairs and maintenance of all PCs, printers, telephones, interactive system, key lock system, etc.
- Maintain all users access request and authorizations (Windows, E-mail, Opera, Micros, )
- Act as the primary contact for all outside agents in all computer technology related matters
- Respond to all users request and provide them with adequate support
- Ensure that the IT organizational requirements for legal, data protection and PCI compliance are in place
- Communicate status, risks and opportunities as it relates to IT to Corporate & Regional IT, General Manager and Hotel Management.
- Responsible for communication with computer vendors and Kempinski Corporate IT Department.
- Responsible for timely preparation and submission of all IT budgets.
- Responsible for the management and control of all IT budgets according to an agreed plan and budget.
- Ensure a business continuity plan is established and tested together with the department heads for all part of the business supported by IT.
- Maximize employee productivity and morale within the department and consistently maintain discipline within hotel guidelines and local regulations.
- Schedule employees in line with varying business levels in order to maximize productivity and minimize payroll costs.
- Select and recruit suitable employees for the department using prescribed set of policies and procedures.
- Identify employees with potential for promotion and/or transfer and makes appropriate development plans for him/her together Director of People Services.
- Work within all pre-set budgetary limits.

- Strong commitment to service
- Technical background, MCSE or strong networking skills
- Prior education and/or experience supporting complex networks
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
