BAE Systems Strategic Aerospace Services WLL | Full time Business Area Name Typhoon City Dukhan Country Qatar Postal Code 000000 Job Description The postholder will be an experienced and skilled mechanical technician and supervisor undertakinga range of detailed maintenance activities on the Typhoon aircraft or aircraftcomponents. The post holderrequires an excellent understanding of the approved technical data set and iscompetent to supervise personnel carrying out maintenance instructions inaccordance with the organisation's regulatory framework. Demonstrates adistinct ability to analyze and diagnose faults to aircraft systems, equipmentand assemblies, follow diagnostic procedures and work effectively within ateam. Provide guidance to less experienced team members in a diverse anddynamic operational environment Undertaking detailed maintenance, inspectionand supervision activities on the Typhoon and its components. Assuring workcarried out has been completed in accordance with the work package using therelevant approved technical information. Resolving faults and maintenanceissues, including configuration management Undertaking and complete tasked maintenance & diagnostic activitieson the Typhoon aircraft or components which may include, as appropriate,aircraft ground handling, flight servicing, aircraft role changes, componentremovals, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications,replacements and/or functional/system test Demonstrate aflexible and proactive attitude to carrying out responsibilities appropriate tothe role and takes direction appropriately Maintain personaltask authorizations for working on aircraft or components Ensuring thatmaintenance is undertaken to schedule and resolve any issues, escalate asrequired Undertaking fault evaluation and raise ad hoc work cards for 'foundfaults' during maintenance Supervising the team to ensure thatmaintenance is undertaken to schedule and highlight any issues, escalate asrequired. Report on any impact to the wider program Ensuring that staff are sufficientlycompetent and approved for the maintenance tasks allocated to them Undertaking support tasks within theAircraft or component maintenance facility which are required to maintaincompliance with the MOE and Functionally Mandated Procedures (FMP's) (e.g.oversight checks, control of tooling / test equipment etc.)" Provide guidance and leadership to theteam. Develops team members using formal assessment processes, e.g. PDR's,supports and sponsors training requests including 'on the job training'.Demonstrates sound and comprehensive communication and people management skillsin order to exchange complicated information Ability to scope and carry outindependent and vital inspections Maintaining apersonal Log Book to demonstrate currency and recency, on completion of On theJob training (OJT) activities, sign other personnel's logbooks asappropriate within your trade and skills boundaries. If you are an approveddesignated assessor, undertake authorisation and task competency approvals, andcheck Pt 145 license application packs prior to submission Requirements Completion of Typhoon Q-Course is essential. Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship, ideally inAeronautical Engineering or Military equivalent apprenticeship /qualifications. Academic qualification for this role is a minimum of City &Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance or equivalent.Aircraft platform training (On a/c requirement) Requires a broad and in-depth productknowledge/competency within own technical/subject area.Awareness of how the team integrates with others in order to achieve theoverall objectives of the area and demonstrates an understanding of therequirement for continuous improvement and its application Experienced and competent leader at this level. Requires aminimum of 2 years working at Technician level prior to undertaking aSupervisor role. Demonstrating breadth of experience, currency & recencyvia a Log Book capturing skills, knowledge and authorities for working onAircraft type or in bays. Practical experience and expertise in the applicationof aviation safety standards and safe operating practices. A comprehensiveknowledge of Expositions and Functionally Mandated Procedures Management training. PDR training / experience Ensurepersonal compliance with the risk assessments, SHE policies and procedures Typhoon CompositeFlight Servicing TyphoonMechanical Trade 'Q' Course Leadership-Foundation Human Factors-Standard Course Specification
