Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Head of Mathematics Teacher to lead our Mathematics Department in an international school based in Qatar. The successful candidate will be passionate about mathematics education, with a proven track record of inspiring students and leading a team of educators. This role presents an exciting opportunity to shape and enhance the mathematics curriculum, foster a culture of academic excellence, and contribute to the school's mission of providing a world-class education.Responsibilities:Curriculum Development and Implementation:Lead the development, review, and implementation of a rigorous and engaging mathematics curriculum aligned with international standards and best practices.Ensure that curriculum content is relevant, differentiated, and responsive to the needs of diverse learners across various age groups and ability levels.Instructional Leadership:Provide instructional leadership and support to mathematics teachers, promoting effective pedagogical strategies, assessment practices, and differentiation techniques.Foster a collaborative and supportive professional learning community within the Mathematics Department, encouraging innovation, reflective practice, and continuous improvement.Student Achievement and Progress:Monitor student progress and attainment in mathematics, analyzing data to identify trends, areas of strength, and areas for improvement.Implement interventions and support mechanisms to address the needs of struggling students and challenge high-achieving students, ensuring equitable opportunities for all learners.Assessment and Evaluation:Oversee the design and implementation of formative and summative assessments in mathematics, ensuring alignment with learning objectives and standards.Utilize assessment data to inform instructional decisions, track student growth over time, and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning strategies.Professional Development:Plan and facilitate professional development opportunities for mathematics teachers, addressing areas of growth, pedagogical trends, and curriculum updates.Encourage ongoing professional learning and certification among staff members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.Parent and Community Engagement:Establish and maintain open communication channels with parents and guardians regarding mathematics curriculum, student progress, and academic expectations.Collaborate with the wider school community, including stakeholders and external partners, to enhance mathematics education and promote a positive school culture.Departmental Administration:Manage the day-to-day operations of the Mathematics Department, including budget oversight, resource allocation, and scheduling of classes and assessments.Coordinate departmental meetings, initiatives, and events, ensuring effective communication and alignment with school goals and priorities.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
