Job Description Networking Protocols and Technologies: ● Proficiency in TCP/IP fundamentals, including IPv4 and IPv6 addressing, subnetting, and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP). ● Understanding of switching concepts such as VLANs, STP, EtherChannel, and Layer 2 security mechanisms (e.g., MAC address filtering, port security). ● Familiarity with WAN technologies like MPLS, VPNs, SD-WAN, and QoS for optimizing network performance and reliability. Routing and Switching: ● Experience configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, and other network devices from vendors like Cisco, Juniper, Arista, or HPE. ● Knowledge of dynamic routing protocols and their attributes, including route redistribution, route summarization, and path selection criteria. ● Hands-on experience with router and switch configuration, VLAN management, access control lists (ACLs), and network segmentation. Network Security: ● Understanding of network security principles and best practices, including firewall configuration, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and VPN technologies. ● Knowledge of security protocols such as IPsec, SSL/TLS, and encryption standards for securing data in transit and at rest. ● Ability to implement and manage network security policies, access controls, and authentication mechanisms to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats. Network Monitoring and Management: ● Proficiency in network monitoring tools such as Wireshark, SNMP, NetFlow, and packet analyzers for troubleshooting and performance analysis. ● Experience with network management platforms like Cisco Prime, SolarWinds, Nagios, or PRTG for centralized monitoring, alerting, and reporting. ● Familiarity with network automation and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ansible) for streamlining configuration management and repetitive tasks. Network Design and Architecture: ● Ability to design scalable, resilient, and secure network architectures to meet business requirements and accommodate future growth. ● Knowledge of network design principles, including hierarchical design models, redundancy mechanisms, and high availability strategies. ● Experience with network virtualization technologies, software-defined networking (SDN), and cloud networking concepts for hybrid and multi-cloud environments. Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution: ● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing complex network issues and implementing effective solutions. ● Experience with network troubleshooting methodologies, including root cause analysis, packet capture analysis, and systematic debugging techniques. ● Capability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively with stakeholders during incident response scenarios. Qualifications: ● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred with a Master's degree . ● 10+ years of experience in network engineering or operations roles, with a focus on troubleshooting and supporting large-scale enterprise networks. ● Strong proficiency in network protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs, and MPLS. ● Hands-on experience with network equipment from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Arista, or Palo Alto Networks. ● Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools, such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, Nagios, or Splunk. ● Industry certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent are highly desirable. ● Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively across teams. ● Proven track record of effectively prioritizing and managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. ● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results. #J-18808-Ljbffr
