Performs difficult and complexfield engineering assignments involving the development, execution,supervision, and coordination of all technical aspects of aconstruction project.Maintains first levelquality assurance to confirm that the installation of all workwithin his /her discipline is in accordance with the plans,specifications, and industry standards.Maysupervise the construction engineering work and provide technicalexpertise for one or more of the construction engineeringdisciplines.Ensures that tests and inspectionsare performed, witnessed, and documented in accordance withapproved procedures.Collaborates withconstruction management to eliminate any hazards associated withthe work that may adversely affect the environment or the safety orhealth of employees.Ensures that personnel ofthe assigned group engage in safe work practices in compliance withsite specific safety procedures and industrystandards.Establishes and maintains liaisonwith the discipline design engineeringstaff.Reviews and interprets discipline designdrawings and specifications to ensure current revision level andcorrect technical execution of thework.Provides resolution for technicalengineering problems within the assigned discipline(s); coordinatesapplication of solutions.Develops disciplineconstruction schedules and monitorsprogress.Provides schedule and progressappraisal report to the ConstructionManager.Monitors material procurement anddeliveries to ensure timeliness in support of constructionactivities and schedule within the assigneddiscipline.Ensures that materials receivedmeet specifications and established standards ofquality.Organizes the accumulation of assigneddiscipline data for the final project turnover andreport.Initiates and maintains records, backcharge procedures, progress reports, etc., asrequired.May have some interface with theclient and upper level management.Performsother responsibilities associated with this position as may beappropriate.
