Job Summary: Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the complete Finance and accounting function of the Firm and the role will act as the first point of contact in Finance Department to facilitate accurate and compliant recording, monitoring, reporting and control of all invoices & payments. Duties & Responsibilities, (include but not limited to):

  • Responsible for company's financial management which includes all account reconciliations and reporting to necessary parties i.e., maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
  • Summarize and prepare financial status and transactions reports, including a profit and loss statement, and other necessary reports
  • Responsible for cash flow management.
  • Responsible for raising Client invoices, handling Account receivables and regular follow ups for the same.
  • Responsible for payment preparation
  • Responsible for Payroll processing.
  • Prepare periodic financial analysis and reports.
  • Prepare revenue projections and forecasting expenditure.
  • Assist in preparing and monitoring budgets.
  • Create a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manual for accounting policy and regulations, and roll out reconciliation procedures
  • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
  • Assist in annual audit preparations.
  • Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
  • Responsible to coordinate with various 3rd party firms, namely, Banks, Credit bureaus, Insurance companies for business related requirements.
  • Perform monthly closings, maintenance of accounting files, and preparation/organization of various financial forms, reports, and financial analyses, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and integrity of financial data.
  • Pro-actively advising management on matters, such as effective use of resources and assumptions underlying budget forecasts.
  • Provide the support and cooperation in regards to the Quality department requirements and Audits.
  • Provide the support and cooperation in regards to the Business development & tenders management activities when requested.
  • Perform other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or assigned.
Education & Experience:
  • Degree in Accounting/ Finance/ Business & Accountancy or a related discipline
  • CMA/ACCA/CPA will be an advantage
  • 8-10 years’ experience in accounting with min. 3 years’ experience in external/internal audit in a senior role
  • Strong background in customer receivables follow up and recovery
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP’s and pivot tables etc.
  • Fluent in English & Arabic
  • ** Preference will be given to candidates with Engineering consultancy background, locally based with Transferrable visa.

  • Strong financial analysis skills.
  • Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to train and manage staff.
  • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Awareness of business trends
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software packages.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work as a team player
