Riyadh, Saudi Arabia | Posted on 03/21/2024 Our client is looking for an Art Director to join their new studio in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and take charge of a team creating hyper-casual mobile games for international audiences. As your main focus you will be leading the design and production of their mobile game artwork, setting the art vision for the team of talented artists, coaching and managing them to create the title's visual style, look, and feel. You will drive, inspire and mentor the team to execute the highest quality work. Responsibilities: Be the primary link between the studio’s graphics team and work along with the Producer and Creative Director to establish a clear artistic vision for the game. Create diverse, innovative, and functional art styles for the game. Define the visual identity of the game, pitches, and style guides. Set up the best practices and standards for production based on industry benchmarks and share your expertise with the team members. Review and validate the assets which adhere to the product vision. Establish Art production pipeline & recommend which process to pursue to ensure the right level of quality. Oversee the whole game’s graphic quality and art content production in collaboration with the art team. Led multiple art disciplines, including UI/UX and Marketing asset creation. Oversee the recruitment and handle the training of the art department, including concept art, 3D modeling, FX, and lighting. Data-oriented mindset, strong sense, and experience with Product KPIs. Manage the communication with the shareholders about artistic & art technical matters. Advocate game-developer mindset in the team beyond mastery of artistic and technical subjects.

Requirements

Experience in working with both in-house and outsourcing/external art teams. Must have completed one entire production cycle on a game from beginning to end. Experienced in IP creation and Artistic Pillars for the game. Should be well-versed in creating pipelines for a 3D Mobile Project, knowledge of optimization for mobile devices, and all aspects of creation. Must have worked using Unity or Unreal and experienced in developing pipelines. Have a portfolio showing your ability to create artwork from various styles for Casual, Midcore, and Hardcore audiences. Excellent communicator and exceptional ability to give positive and constructive feedback. (Briefings, review, discussions, problem-solving, etc.) Desire to understand the customers’ preferences and the ability to produce appealing art. Motivated, goal-oriented, strong team player.
