My client islooking for a highly motivated and analytical Equity Research Analyst to join their Public Equities team. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • In-depth company analysis: Analyze financial statements, management performance, competitive landscape. Track multiple sector themes and reporting them to the team as well as identifying themes not currently addressed
  • Financial modelling: Build and update complex financial/valuation models
  • New research reports & recommendations: Write research reports and present ideas to the Portfolio Manager. Analyse companies’ earnings reports, including previews and reviews. Produce reports or strategies enabling the team to focus on areas of market out-performance
  • Maintenance research & data bases: Conduct maintenance research and reports on business news on portfolio holdings. Maintain data bases tracking industryresearchand statistics. Develop and maintain proprietary data tracking industryresearchfiles
  • Quantitative reports: Use and create incremental, internal quantitative reports that identify potentially attractive long and short ideas
  • Communication: Interact with sell-side analysts, industry contacts, investor relations personnelto develop an investment thesis on a stock or industry
  • Ad-Hoc: Assist PM / CIO in tracking and monitoring the equities book portfolio and helping the PM ensure that work assignments are done in a timely fashion
Target Profile:
  • 2 – 6 years work experience as equity research analyst (either part of an investment firm or an investment bank)
  • Proven quantitative and qualitative analytical capabilities including financial modeling, industry and product analysis and report writing
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • High level of self-motivation and work ethic along with the ability to complete assignments quickly and accurately
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented fast-paced environment while being able to prioritise projects
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to work on challenging intellectual problems
  • Strong competitive spirit and desire to succeed
  • Strong accounting and finance skills
