The incumbent of this position will act as the liaison between his organization and the Environmental Protection Department. The occupant of this position will lead the planning, establishing, implementing and maintaining of all environmental activities within his or her organization including industrial hygiene, environmental health, radiation protection, marine biology, water treatment, ambient air quality protection, meteorology, oceanography, solid and hazardous waste management, groundwater and wastewater monitoring, surface water hydrology, water conservation, environmental law, environmental compliance, environmental awareness, etc. to ensure compliance with government and corporate environmental regulations and standards. When applicable (organization with Radiation Practice License), the incumbent will act as the focal point for management of Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (NORM).

A) Implements various environmental activities in coordination with EPD in the area of industrial hygiene, environmental health, radiation protection, marine biology, water treatment, ambient air quality protection, meteorology, oceanography, solid and hazardous waste management, groundwater and wastewater monitoring, surface water hydrology, water conservation, environmental law, environmental compliance, environmental awareness, etc. to ensure compliance with government and corporate environmental regulations and standards.

B) Coordinates all environmental activities within his organization, including industrial hygiene, environmental health, and radiation protection.

C) Acts as liaison between his organization and the Environmental Protection Department (EPD).

D) Drive and develop clear understanding of the EMS System roles, responsibilities and requirements. Coordinate all EMS-related activities within the organization, including the development of environmental objectives and indicators, tracking of performance and costs, and record-keeping.

E) Support implementing the corporate environmental policy and monitor compliance.

F) Be acquainted of all environmental issues and update management on significant environmental issues or observations.

G) Work with compliance teams to enhance organization's environmental performance.

H) Be acquainted of all applicable environmental regulations, standards, procedures and guidelines as well as all Saudi Aramco environmental programs.

I) Be the focal point of contact for all environmental related issues.

J) Organize and participate in major environmental surveys such as Environmental Performance Assessments (EPAs), Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (NORM) surveys, Occupational Health Hazard Assessments (OHHAs), and Environmental Health surveys. Actively seeks to resolve any findings from these surveys.

K) Conduct technical reviews on environmental aspects of contract documents, and work with EPD to monitor the environmental performance of contractors.

L) Support the implementation of HAZCOM program including hazardous materials/chemicals inventory, chemical hazard bulletins, hazard signs and train -the-trainer programs and employee training.

M) Participate in Company's oil and chemical spill protection programs.

N) Enhance environmental awareness by organizing conferences, forums, presentations and video sessions, distributing information, and leading by example.

O) Write formal reports, environmental articles for company publications, and develop / deliver presentations.

 

Qualifications & Experience

A) Hold a Bachelors Degree in Science or Engineering and have at least Ten years work experience in environmental management field. A Master's Degree and/or Ph.D. in an Environmental or Natural Science or a closely related field may be an advantage.

B) shall demonstrate/prove a high level of Environmental management skills with expertise in oil and gas or other related activities.

C) Certified and/or have knowledge and field experience in Environmental management systems (preferably Internal/Lead audit certifications ISO 14001, other training certifications related to environmnetal sustainability, air mitigations, hazardous waste, GHG, water/wastewater management, NORM/ radioactive, spill control, noise control, and etc.)

D) preferably to have demonstrated knowledge of delivering hands on environmental training and conducting of different environmnetal awareness sessions.

E) preferably to have good knowledge of environmental concepts, international environmnetal standards, and industry related environmnetal standrads, and research methods.

F) Ability to write reports; ability to work with others and communicate technical concepts and ideas to non-technical personnel and the public; ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the essential duties of the position; ability to use computer applications.

G ) NEBOSH certificate.
