Responsibilities Analyze, plan, organize, and support all applications engineering efforts and work to drive higher adoption levels by the customers of Weatherfor products and solutions, based on the needs expressed by the client and/or the operations team, from job planning phase into implementation.

  • Leads the Operational Control Plan (OCP) and technical work instructions from the applications point of view, driving successful and repeatable work performance. This includes the development, revision, simplification, approval, publication, distribution and implementation of Geozone PL processes to improve service quality with the GeoZone operations including but not limited to service alerts, bulletins, technical work instructions, operational control plans and zero tolerance, where applicable
  • Technical product line expert in the Geozone for the new technology
  • Acts as the liaison between the customers, Product Line Management and R&D/Sustaining Engineering during field testing and product launch
  • Collect, organize library of Geozone jobs with notes on key learnings and success stories. Utilize this body of knowledge from geozone operations to influence sustaining engineering in improving our product, field operations and shop to strive to implement best practices
  • Ability to articulate and develop clear value propositions based on the new technology business case
  • Assist with commercial proposals and value propositions are delivered with adequate technical support information
  • Monitor adequate resources are in place to properly field test and launch the new technology
  • Identifies candidate wells and work with customers to ensure the field test objectives are met
  • Supports Operations, as required, during field test, including participating in RTOC (Real time Operating Center) and rig site operations
  • Provides technical input/support into all new product/service-related incidents, following up on corrective actions and evaluation the success of these actions
  • Monitors and contribute with the operational performance statistics/KPIs of the new product are continuously updated and evaluated, providing feedback to Geozone Product Line Manager
  • Provides feedback/supporting materials to Training/Development team for Field Engineer and Sales training
  • Reviews all field test results with the customers when required
  • Assists in supporting the launch of PL strategy, both in the planning and in the execution
  • Assist with overseeing and reporting on project readiness assessments for critical projects
  • Supports Geozone Product Line Manager to develop and execute the business plan for the new product for the Geozone
  • Actively promotes the new technology within the Geozone to ensure all technical support aspects are covered
  • Gathers customer feedback to further improve the product/service
  • Support all product upgrade/development and implementation initiatives
  • Ensures Lessons Learned as the products are delivered to the clients and are communicated internally in the GEOZONE as wellas to the Global Product Line Manager to implement corrective actions
  • Provide Product Knowledge training
    • to customers on the new technology if its applications
    • to local Weatherford Sales staff on the new technology, its applications and how to sell it
  • Creates clear and thorough acceptance criteria to ensure that the team understands when work is complete; participates in the retrospective
  • Provide direct, high-level support to customers for critical new technology services
  • Generate technical papers and case histories to promote the new service
  • Responsible for ensuring publishing and distributing product improvement content including tech alerts, updated field procedures and work instructions.
  • Supports operations on technical troubleshooting related to hardware/software/procedural management of change, supports Hazid/Hazop, procedural reviews
  • Facilitates and support the Field Operations learning and development program
  • Collaborates with other PL Service Delivery Managers to evaluate opportunities to drive consistency in calibration standards across common tools used across PLs
Qualifications REQUIRED
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 10+ years of oilfield experience
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in the delivery and technical management role
PREFERRED
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution. Knowledge of contracting and change management.
  • Experience with JD Edwards
  • International experience
