Job Overview

We are seeking a Radiation Protection Consultant to join the Health Protection Division of Environmental Protection Department.

The Health Protection Division is responsible for providing consultation and advice to ensure the protection, health and wellbeing of Saudi Aramco employees.

The Radiation Protection Consultant primary role is to provide advice and consultation on all aspects of work with ionizing radiation associated with Saudi Aramco operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

You will be required to perform the following:

• Provision of consultancy on all aspects of ionizing radiation protection related to Saudi Aramco operations

• Monitoring the compliance of users of radiation sources and operations involving NORM

• Identification and implementation of technologies to enhance radiation protection across Saudi Aramco operations

• The review, approval and monitoring of radiation protection procedures for corporate activities, including man-made and natural radiation sources

• Provision of awareness and training on radiation protection issues.

• Developments of methods and procedure for NORM waste operations.

• The development of standards, procedures and guidelines related for both man-made radiation sources and NORM operations

• Participation in applied research related to NORM handling and disposal

• Performing assessments of potential risks associated with workers exposure to and the disposal of NORM waste

• The training and development of radiation protection professionals within Saudi Aramco

Minimum Requirements

As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelor's degree in Health Physics or a suitable related science discipline from a recognized and approved program. An advanced degree is preferred.

You will have ten years' experience in operational radiation protection and health physics and have and have a broad knowledge and understanding of:

• Radiation detection & measurement

• Radiometric analysis techniques

• International radiation protection standards

• Operational radiation protection controls

• Radiation dosimetry regimes

• Management and control of naturally occurring radioactive material (NORM)

• Non-Ionizing Radiation Sources
