Follow the procedures established by the procurement section, managing suitable precise procedures for logging procurement information onto the system, to maintain a high level of quality, ensuring accuracy of recording and filing.
Build robust partnerships and business relationships with current and potential suppliers and service providers to ensure that obtains the best combination of benefit and cost.
Review and identify variances or deviations in contract performance, reporting nonconformities to the procurement section to take corrective action, minimizing all possible disparities.
Maintain the documents, files, and contracts in the Document Control office under safe custody without any damage or deterioration with easy traceability.
Ensure that procurement needs, requirements and relevant product specifications from the involved departments are properly captured.
Supervise the continuous review of pending orders that have met or overrun their original delivery date to expedite delivery while keeping procurement section informed.
Prepare and review purchasing files, reports and price lists, comparing prices, specifications, and delivery dates to determine the best bid among potential suppliers, maintaining a database of all relevant data.
Check shipments upon arrival, to ensure that orders have been filled correctly and that goods meet the desired specifications and are in good conditions, accepting or returning the order accordingly.
Review requisition orders to verify accuracy, terminology, and specifications.
Gather purchasing requirements from other functions, ensuring clarity and proper documentation, determining if inventory quantities are sufficient for needs, ordering more materials when necessary.
Calculate costs of orders, and charge or forward invoices to appropriate accounts.
Analyse vendor performance based on the inputs of contract and achievement of the contract obligations to identify the most suitable vendors for any potential work involvement.

<p>The Engineer executes the activities within his area of responsibility, ensuring the compliance with the QA/QC and HSE requirements<br />
Tasks include:</p>

	<li>Issue all the documents related to the definition and production of components ( pipe, fittings, etc.) needed for the construction of pipe lines, sea lines, etc.</li>

	<li>Support procurement department to establish bidder lists, evaluating and pre-qualifying vendors, bid assessments, audits</li>
	<li>Review Supplier documentation for compliance with client/international specifications/rules</li>
	<li>Issue Technical Bid Evaluation for Linepipes and Fittings Supply</li>
	<li>Assist MPQT, review/comment subcontractor documentation, review the inspection and test plan</li>
	<li>Discuss and interface with the method project engineers and/or TM during both proposal preparation and projects to identify particular project requirements</li>
	<li>Liaise with welding , NDT and anticorrosion colleagues to identify critical requirements for product manufacturing that may affect Saipem installation activities and to promote innovative solutions</li>
	<li>Perform inspection site survey</li>
	<li>Report for validation to his technical group leader</li>
	<li>Coordinate material failure analysis</li>
	<li>Maintain contact with Line pipes manufacturers to be updated on new technologiesent/Materials Selection, in order to optimize overall quality and costs</li>
	<li>Perform materials selection or validate the materials selection performed by Others, by identification of possible internal and external corrosion mechanisms, taking into account the process data determined by relative disciplines and defining anti-corrosion strategies (selection of corrosion resistant material, chemical treatment, painting and coatings, cathodic protection, corrosion allowances and equipment design)</li>
	<li>Perform the corrosion rate calculation by using recognized models and software for sour and sweet services and evaluation of erosion allowances to validate the materials selection or perform the selection of the right CRA material</li>
	<li>Select chemical inhibition philosophy (e.g. CO2/H2S corrosion, O2 removal and control, presence of bacteria in oil and gas fluids, water treatment, seawater injection, etc.)</li>
	<li>Issue corrosion engineering documents</li>
	<li>Transfer the corrosion strategy to the disciplines responsible of CP, Painting and Coating</li>
	<li>Interface with other disciplines in order to provide corrosion-related inputs</li>

<p><u><b>Tasks</b></u></p>

<p>The PSL ensures the execution of the engineering activities within own area of responsibility, works following the TM guidelines, cooperates with the other Project positions and ensures the compliance with the QA/QC and HSE requirements.</p>

<p>Tasks include:<br />
A-Development of Technology know how and Commercial support<br />
B-Feasibility</p>

	<li>Provide technical support to other Project positions for specialist aspects</li>
</ul>

<p>C-Bidding phase/Commercial proposal</p>

<ul>
	<li>Analyse and understand Tender documentation</li>
	<li>Define Discipline list of activities and deliverables and coordinate activities in accordance with Project schedule</li>
	<li>Identify technical queries, deviations and alternatives to be submitted</li>
	<li>Implement bidding methodologies, design criteria and guidelines</li>
	<li>Define and issue Request for quotation and relevant Technical Bid Tabulation for not estimated in-house items</li>
	<li>Coordinate material quantities and weight estimation</li>
	<li>Prepare engineering man-hour and material cost estimations</li>
	<li>Support the Proposal Manager during technical clarification meetings with the Client</li>
</ul>

<p>D-Project Execution</p>

<ul>
	<li>Ensure the achievement of the assigned goal and the fulfilment of the Project quality and contractual requirements. Take the necessary corrective actions within the Discipline Project Team to meet the assigned goal. Report to the TM for more extensive problems</li>
	<li>Define list of activities and deliverables, setup time schedule, coordinate activities in accordance with contractual requirements</li>
	<li>Ensure Discipline Project progress, monitor and control man-hour consumption</li>
	<li>Prepare technical annexes for engineering activities to be subcontracted</li>
	<li>Ensure subcontractor coordination and monitoring/reporting to PM of the Discipline budget costs</li>
	<li>Ensure proper Discipline workflow, interfaces, quality checks and approval of all Discipline Project documents, including Vendor ones</li>
	<li>Track and report to TM Discipline scope of work changes updating man-hour and cost estimates</li>
	<li>Provide technical support to Project functions including Procurement and Construction</li>
	<li>Support PM in technical interfacing with the Client (according to TM)</li>
	<li>Define and issue Purchase Requisitions</li>
	<li>Ensure Technical Bid Evaluations</li>
	<li>Ensure Vendor follow-up activities</li>
	<li>Provide technical support for the definition of the Discipline construction inspection plan</li>
	<li>Manage Vendor inspection test plan approval and support post order activities</li>
</ul>
