Overview

Saudi Aramco is seeking a Flow Assurance Specialist to work part of the technical team of Gas Facility Division of the Gas Development Admin Department arm of Petroleum Engineering & Development Admin Area under Upstream Business Line.

As a Flow Assurance Engineer Specialist, you will lead upstream gas facility flow assurance work and utilize advanced flow analysis tools and technology to provide support to Saudi Aramco's engineering and operation organizations by developing solutions that ensure safe & reliable non-associated gas flow through wells and upstream pipeline networks feeding the receiving facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop the scope of work for gas upstream facilities design and reviewing engineering design packages.
  • Conduct gas upstream risk assessment studies.
  • Participate in many HOZOP studies related to gas upstream facilities.
  • Apply safety related issues and address environmental impact issues.
  • Perform steady state and transient multiphase flow simulations, heat transfer and flash calculations on PC-based software packages (with emphasis on using OLGA & PVTsim).
  • Characterize gas and gas condensate fluid samples.
  • Analyze results of the simulations and recommend optimum hydraulic operating conditions.
  • Able to look at alternatives, perform economic analysis and identify the most cost-effective alternative.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of science in engineering from an accredited university, MSc or PhD is desirable, but not required.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience petroleum engineering organization with a minimum of 5 years in flow assurance discipline.
  • You should be familiar with gas surface and subsurface production facilities networks, offshore and onshore processing facilities, hydrocarbon fluid characterizations, and fluid dynamics and thermodynamics..
  • You should have extensive experience in dealing and modeling multiphase flow in pipes and all related flow assurance issues, PVT analysis, heat transfer modeling, and steady state and transient production strategies including chemical and mitigations requirements. Also, able to identify design specifications; recommend improvements and economies in this area.
  • You should have extensive knowledge in multiphase flow modeling using OLGA for transient flow and Pipesim for steady state flow, as well as other similar software.
  • You should have extensive experience in fluid characterizations using PVTsim, MULTIFLASH and other similar software. It is highly desirable to be skilled in programing language such as VBA coding, C++ and Python.
  • You should develop tools, guidelines and process for best practice in flow assurance engineering.

Preferred:

It is desirable to have facility engineering, production engineering, reservoir engineering, downhole well completions experience and knowledge since studies encompassing these issues will be expected.
