The Geosteering Group is responsible for monitoring [wells in real time and placement activities of hydrocarbon wells for the development plans of oil and gas fields of Saudi Aramco. The Field Development Geologist primary role is to handle all geological responsibilities associated with drilling operations with minimal supervisionDuties & ResponsibilitiesYou will be required to perform the following:

  • Monitor and geo-steers all types of wells both in office or onsite when needed
  • Maintain OpenWorks database: Creates well headers, loading well data, and prepares well lists, etc,
  • Prepare geological prognosis including but not limited to tops, cross sections, correlation panels identifying any geological risks and contingency issues/planning and finally ensures acknowledgements of the program by other parties
  • Update grids/maps in light of the new drilling information obtained from active wells to help optimizing wells objectives. This should be done by using landmark software Package such as Decision Space Geosciences
  • Provide clarity and well understanding when communicating with other parties involved in the drilling activities
  • Perform the wells evaluations while and post-drilling, such as final correlations, maps and grids for both structural, stratigraphic, and fluid limits mapping using Landmark Software as mentioned above
Minimum RequirementsAs the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelor's degree in Geology from a recognized and approved program. You will have Fifteen years of experience experience in Field development activities, including at least five years in geosteering.
  • You will have the ability to integrate all available Geological, Geophysical, Petrophysical, Sedimentological, and 3D Geological model and other dynamic information for geosteering the well into their optimum targets
  • you must have Clear understanding of operational drilling activities and their implications
  • you will be able to demonstrate extensive experience in technical geological tasks such as well to well correlation, interpret real time logging while drilling tools and create structure maps
  • you will also have to Provide 1D & 2D geological evaluation including facies, mapping and data integration for 2D & 3D modeling projects
  • You need to have strong teamwork skills and able to work in multicultural environment
  • The ability of communicating effectively in English language verbally and in writing is necessary along with excellent presentation skills is necessary
